Citi - My Oldest and Most Trusted Card

4

I first received a Citibank credit card when I was 18 - many years later this long standing relationship has really helped my credit score and report. The interest rates have varied for me over the years, as I had some struggles - but the customer service team were always open to helping me adjust as things got easier. I like the Premier Pass style visually (simple plus with silver writing) and the online account management is very simple. It tracks my purchases, rewards points and payments quite easily. I have set it up to notify me of upcoming payment due dates and when my new statement is available. I had stopped using it for quite some time, a few years back, and when I took it out for some holiday shopping they immediately got in touch with me to be sure it was in fact legit spending, since I had been dormant for months. Citibank is a long trusted company, and they way this card/company saw me through some hard times and managed to lower my interest and raise my limit as my financial situation improved has been appreciated. I likely will always have this card.

I have had this credit card for 15 years. They treat me like the loyal customer I am. Low interest and reliable customer service. They are always available and it is easy to get to a person. They continually provide a low interest rate for customers that use credit wisely. Their security is very strong. Their website is informative and it makes it easy to manage your account.

Great way to earn rewards

5

This credit card is one of the best.  If you pay off your balance each month you basically earn rewards with no cost to you.  You buy things as you would using any other credit card and then at your billing period end, citibank credits your account with lots of points...of course it depends on how much you charge as to how much you earn.  Anyway, it's worth looking into.  I've never had a problem with Citibank.

BOYCOTTING Citi Bank / PremierPass CC after 210% RATE HIKE!

1

Until this year, 2009, I used my Citi PremierPass Credit Card as my primary credit card, which I used for personal expenses.  I was attracted to the card because I fly internationally 3-5 times a year, and with this card I earned one mile for every three mile I or anyone else flew as long as the tickets were purchased on the card.  In addition to buying airline tickets with the card, I used the card for everything from gas to groceries, hotels to department store purchases.  I typically pay off my card each month and never needed to do a balance transfer as I try to keep my debt load to a minimum.  However, I frequently used the card internationally, so the company made money off me.  I was a loyal customer until this year when Citi decided to hike my interest rate 210%.  I was so disgusted, I paid off what I owed and vow to stop using the card except in emergencies.  Citi can call me when they have something better to offer, until then, I'm giving my business to other credit card companies.  With my international wedding coming up soon, too bad for Citi.  I would not recommend this card unless you want to get jacked around.

Bestest card I have ever owned

This particular credit card offer thank you network points every time time you make a purchase using this card. Every time I buy gas, about 3 times per week, I get some points  When I take my girl friends out to the movies and use this card I get a credit. When I take my girl friends out to lunch or out to dinner and use this card I get points. The points can be then cashed in for a check for $50, or a $20 gas card to Sunoco, or a gift card to Applebees or Chiilis restaurants. Let me tell you, ladies and germs, you can not go wrong holding this card and then subscribing to the Thank You Network. Go. Go.Go. I rate it a 10......

Absolute -0- Customer Service & no Warranty Extension

1

For a credit card that we opened back in 1980, when they had warranties on new purchases that covered 5-20 years (service life they called it).  We had the new home, so new appliances & all had 20 years warranties on them for FREE.  Computer was 5 years, and any item that had one year got 2, or less than a year it was doubled. Now we are into 2000 Millenium change of just about all credit cards but AMEX.  They just want your money for interest & other fees like paying off your account by phone. Have any problems with purchases, forget them! They state a purchase is too old for their records. They state 3 months (90 days in their terms) is the limit but yet they advertise warranty coverage of an additional year on purchases with warranties of 5 years or less. Now they state they have no warranty services. Then we get to the big reason for the card, AIR MILES that they state are 4 times what you paid for them.  They reward by mileage flown not price paid.  Guess what, they have only one way rewards, not round trip eventho we flew both ways.  Figure that one out.  And their THANK YOU POINTS, try to use for an Onboard Credit on a cruise.  NO WAY!  You didn't book through their travel agent. We had a $600 snow thrower blow up in under a year, the dealer stated the warranty from him was null & void since they no longer sold the product, so we phone Citibank MC & are told that it is over 90 days old & they no longer have records. SO I got their address & mailed them my statement showing the charge with their goofy numbers attached to it, the receipt for the snowblower purchase & the dealer no longer honoring the warranty also copied. They write back, we are sorry but the purchase is over 90 days & we no longer can assist you. So I phone about their warranty & am told they no longer have that service. YOU HAD IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT!So goto AMEX first, then VISA, then Discover for the best service, protection & sheer loyalty to customer.  Visa & Discover have no warranty service so I use Visa for cruise credits & Discover's 5% gas rewards on $100 a month for gas purchases.  They both have getten cheap in 2007 for rewards, that soon will be gone. Love the sound of the shredder as I feed a credit card from a bank that has -0- care for its customers.  When illegal aliens get better service, I am GONE!UPDATE 12/19/2005: Quite funny that I am rated as SOME WHAT HELPFUL & CNBC quoted my post & emails from other folks about Citibank's lack of customer service, warranty time addition, even banking problems with direct deposits. We were all thanked for alerting folks to advertising lingo that is far from the truth. So now we wait for Citibank to respond which they failed to do when given the offer. Next to mine was another family with the Citibank Premier card that give air miles to vacations that you fly to that you get double the miles. 5 members but Citibank gave miles to the cardholder only. MAN CLOSED HIS ACCOUNT! He saw my post, agrees with what I said, and saw the ad on Citibank on CNBC & emailed them too.

premire pass awsome credit card

capital one credit cards offer great rewards programs like free gift cards just for one purchase one the cards. I found this is a great way to make free money or gift cards just by using there cards ive recieved about one thousand dollars over three years in what i call free mon mon. Its very easy to do get a card spend some and pay it off before intrest hits and wall law they send  u a gift certificut in the mail .  After u recieve your free stuff cancel the card and start looking for another card from them or any company that offers bonus points for new acounts.Just remiber that you want the no annual fee cards and that im not a very smart person buti remiber every one telling me that theres not such thing as free in this world but i guess theywere all wrong. Avoid late fees over the cards limit fees and intrest fees by paying your balance in full on time every month by the due date and it will not cost you anything but a littletime for the application and phone call.  Good luck it has been very rewarding for me!
