As of July 2009, this card offers 2% cash back on supermarket (grocery stores), drugstore, gas, and utilities, 1% cash back on all other purchases with a $300 cap per calendar year. I would say this is slightly above average (average being just 1% cash back), but you do get 5% cash back in the 2% categories for 6 months. The APR is not important to me since I never carry a balance, so I didn't even bother checking it. There is no annual fee.
Before finding this card, I applied for the Capital One No Hassle Cash Reward card that offers the same cash back (except you can choose a different category for 2% if you don't want it in groceries and gas). There's no annual fee if you have excellent credit, which I thought I did with a credit score in the mid-upper 700s with all 3 bureaus, however I was declined.
With the Citi Dividend Platinum Select card, I was approved with a credit limit of $4000. But once I found another card that offers unlimited 2% cash back, I converted this card into the Citi Forward.
