Most HelpfulIn 2006, I was addicted to Renu Multipurpose and it was the only product I would buy for my contact lens care. Then in February 2006 I heard there was a recall and this product had been linked to eye diseases that were making people blind! I had heard that certain bottles were still safe, but I wasn't...

Most HelpfulAs someone who is still recovering from a chemical burn suffered from this product (2 days ago), I will never buy it again, even if it's on sale (like it was when I bought it).
The 6 hour neutralization time is a big obstacle to me, especially as I often need to have a little sleep in the middle of the...

Contact lenses require a certain degree of care and while the process is much simpler than it was in the past, there are still a few minimum requirements with cleaning and storage. One product that helps you achieve clean contacts with almost no effort is Ciba Vision Clear Care Contact Solution, a no- rub solution.
Contact Solution Commentary:
Ciba Vision Clear Care Contact Solution is a contact solution formulated for both cleaning and storage of contact lenses. It is sold in a plastic squeeze bottle, just like other contact solution products, and doesn't require any rubbing. It cleans, disinfects,...
read full review »This product was recommended by my eye doctor and it is proving to be the best product I have used. All you do is store your contact lens in the container then pour Clear Care up to the fill line. It's that easy.
I highly recommend this product.
Ciba Vision Clear Care Lens Solution is number 1 in comfort and convenience, but the downsides are:
1) you have to change the solution everyday - not sure if there are others out there like me, but when I was using the multipurpose solution, I didn't change it everyday.
2) you have to put a lot of solution in the case every time you change it - almost wasteful.
3) you have to make sure you won't need the lens within 6 hours
4) you will need an eye drop (can't use your saline solution) for dry contacts as you won't saline or a multipurpose solution handy to drop in your eyes with clear care
Still, I...

I was recommended this Clear Care Contact Solution when I was having trouble with my contact lenses being extremely uncomfortable and it definitely helped.
However, a caution to read instructions and follow the red box instructions on this product. I did not (how I missed it I'm not sure, because its pretty obvious and they make it very clear) and tried using this cleaner like regular contact solution, so after washing my lenses in it I put them directly into my eye. It burned pretty bad and hurt like the devil. That's when I saw that you're not supposed to put it in your eye until you wash...
read full review »I love this solution. I use to have problems with my contacts being really dry. When I would put them in in the mornings my eyes would get really red and I would have a hard time seeing. My doctor told me to change and I have never had that problem again. Do make sure that you never put your contacts in your eyes when they have been in the solution for less than 6 hours. It burns really bad and you can't wear them. I know from experience.
I wear a special soft toric lens, have very senstive and dry eyes. I need to rinse thoroughly (with saline) before putting in my eye, but I noticed an immediate improvement in the comfort of the lens the first time I used this solution. Worth the price!!
I like the Clear Care contact products. I used to use the kind my eye doctor gave me until my fiance recommended this one. It can be a little pricey, but you can save some of the fluid by not rinsing the contacts before storing them in the case (which is always included in the new box of fluid). I never rinse them, and my fiance always rinses his, and we don't seem to have any differences.
From the first time I used this I could feel how much cleaner my contacts felt when I put them in. The product doesn't really have any benefits besides cleaning, but it does the cleaning really well. ...
read full review »I bought this product when I was having issues with my contacts. It is awesome. You put your contacts in an upright case that encloses each lens but has holes so all sides of the contacts are disinfected. You have to let them set for at least 6 hours and if you bump the case and it falls over, you have to wait another 6 hours because the solution is reactivated. Trust me I learned the hard way that it HURTS if you put them in your eyes before the time is up - your eye will burn and you will have to remove your contact and deal with bright red eye. It's definately pricy, but well worth it if you...
read full review »Clear Care was recommended to me by my eye care professional after I had an allergic reaction to Renu contact solution. After using Renu for years, I developed a reaction (turning my eyes red and bloodshot) to it. Then I learned that they can slightly change the formula without informing consumers. My eye doctor told me to use Clear Care and what a difference it makes! Since it changes into pure saline, there is nothing left to irritate my eyes! I have worn contact lenses for 15 years and this is the best cleaning solution I have ever used. It is more expensive than other products,...

Absolutely love Clear Care. I have been a contact lens wearer for 21 years and this is the best contact lens cleaner out there. It totally disinfects my lenses and leaves me feeling confident and reassured that they are as clean as they can possibly be. I do not understand the people who complained and caused the previous recall. The instructions clearly state that this solution is not to be put directly into eyes, not to be used on lenses that will then be put into eyes, needs to be used with the included container and left in there for at least 6 hours. There are red marks on the bottle...
read full review »I used to buy the generic contact solution formula until my eyes turned red. I found out that I was alleric to preservatives in the solution so I was told to try Clear Care. I haven't used any other brands of solution since. Clear Care cleans your contacts better than any other solution.
The only drawbacks to this solution is that is takes so long to clean your lenses and the case must be kept upright. (I don't know how many times I've knocked over the case by mistake!) The price is higher than other solutions so I try to buy it when on sale.
This product is fabulous for cleaning your lenses and making them like new.
True you do have to follow the directions and wait 6 hours because it is a peroxide product but that is a small price for having fresh comfortable lenses.
The company takes MANY extra steps to warn you about the wait time and has created a red warning collar on the bottle so you dont grab the wrong one.
HIGHLY recommend you try it. Your eyes will thank you!
