CiCi's Pizza - Bellmead, TX —

About a year ago, Cici's came to town, and I rejoice.....the biggest problem with ordering pizza for a family is that everyone has a different idea of what toppings constitute a good pizza.  With a buffet situation, everyone is happy with their own version of pizza, and I must admit the buffet offers some pretty original choices.  I have seen the pineapple/ham thing, and my personal favorite of spinach and mushroom.  There have also been some bizarre offerings, which are just plain wierd like the macaroni and cheese pizza, but hey, to each their own.   The salad bar is adequate with unlimited refills.  The dessert bar is somewhat anything that falls into a pizza like theme with apple and cherry strudel types of pizza, and an interesting use of the bread dough to create cinnamon rolls with the requisite boiled sugar drizzle.  Pop. lemonade, and iced tea area all available as choies with unlimited refill as well.   The atmosphere is very casual and kid friendly which makes it a superior family choice.  Prices are a little higher by us than in Texas, but we still consider it to be competitive with other fast food options.   There is another big plus in that this can be fast food, because the buffet is continually replenished, so you just come in and begin eating-no waiting required, which is another bonus with kids.  The sauce is not overly spiced, so the kids like it, but it isn't so bland as to taste like ketchup to the adults palate.   It isn't gourmet, but it is a darn sight better than what is served at a place like Chuckee Cheese, and I don't get hit up for all those game tickets either.  Most of the restaurants do have a game room off to the side and back of the facility with video games, pin ball, but it isn't intrusive to the eating area.   There are also TV's scattered about, so Dad doesn't feel that taking the kids for pizza means that he has to miss the big game.   Overall it is a great deal for families and probably for teens to, because it is in the realm of affordable for date night, and the atmosphere is conducive to them socializing while they eat.  Our closest store is kept immaculately clean and the staff is quick to clear away used plates and trays so that you don't feel cramped.  The pasta choices are pretty bland and probably only appeal to the youngsters, but that isn't really a disqualifier in selecting a family destination.  Overall, I can think of places that I would like to avoid when it comes to eating with the kids, and Cici's gives me an alternative that is still a treat for them.
