Yesterday was my middle sons birthday. He turned ten. Woo hoo!! Ten is a good age to be for a boy. It is a tradition for my family to take the birthday person out to a place the want to go on their birthday. My son choose Chuckie Cheese. The first thing I did was look around the Internet to find some coupons. I was able to find a coupon for 1 large pizza, 1 medium pizza, 6 soft drinks and I forget how many tokens for under thirty dollars. So, I printed the coupon.
My kids came home from school, my husband off from work, and my hubby's niece came over. We all drove to Chuckie Cheese in my van. We had gone once before on my daughter birthday back in August. It was packed. There was a line that had a wait for over an hour. Luckily when we pulled up. There was no a line at all. Plus, there was a handicap parking space right up front for me to park in. I had brought along a camping chair to sit in. Just in case there would be another long wait.
We walked in to Chuckie Cheese. Where we was greeted by a hosted and had to stop. We had to hold out out arm to have an invisible number. You can't see it but it isn't invisible. It takes a certain kind of light to be able to see it. It is a safety precaution. So someone can not leave Chuckie Cheese with your child. As all numbers have to match before they allow you to leave. My son also receive a sticker that was placed on his shirt announcing he was the birthday boy.
After we were let in. We walked up to the counter to place our order. We paid and were given a number to place on our table. The food would be brought out to us.
I allow my two younger kids to go with my teen son and husbands teen niece while we were waiting on the pizza to come. the pizza didn't take long at all to come. I was very impressed on how fast it was done. Plus it was hot. Husband and I rounded up the kids and sat down to eat. The large pizza has extra cheese and pepperoni. The medium pizza was plain cheese. I tried both. For some reason I did not enjoy the plain cheese pizza. I don't feel it didn't have enough cheese to cover it. It just didn't have the same taste either. The kids agreed.
When the kids were done eating. The took off to go play the games and use up their tokens. My two younger kids knew they had to be with either my husband, their older brother or my husbands niece. They could not be anywhere alone.
The games were alot of fun. They had a large selection. My 8 yr old daughter had figured out the games and was showing me how to play them. Except ski ball. I was showing my daughter how to get points on that game. As I helped her out. When the tokens ran out, the kids counted their tickets. I divided mine between the kids. My husband gave his to the birthday boy. The kids all decided to get candy with their tickets.
While we were there. Chuckie Cheese held a party for another birthday child. It was really nice to watch. As we were sitting near by. When they all left. There was two goodie bags left. A Chuckie Cheese worker allow my son to have them. He was nice enough to share the second one with his sister.
I was able to take a couple of pictures of the kids and the birthday boy.
To sum it all, I would say going on a Wednesday night was alot better than going on the weekend. There was alot more room to run around with out getting ran in to by a child. More and closer parking places. Food came quicker and was actually hot. There was no long lines or waits. It was a great time had by all in our birthday party.
