Brief history. When my eldest son was born we were in a rush to purchase a car and without thinking we purchased a slightly used Hyundai Sonata. Both my husband and I hated that car with a pashion. As far as reliability went, it was a perfectly sound vehicle, but it was mind-blowingly boring and had absolutely zero style, however, caught in the negative with regards to financing we were stuck with it for nearly five years.

This summer we finally broke free and reluctant to fall into the same trap as before we spent months reviewing different vehicles trying to find our perfect car. Our budget was up to $25,000. We were stuck though. We wanted a fuel economic vehicle that would seat six comfortably. *insert sound of head hitting desk*. Impossible to find in our budget. I would have loved the Ford Escape Hybrid, but not in our price range. Same for the Hybrid Toyota Highlander. I also wanted something that felt luxurious! (Not hard after five years in the Sonata!).

I was browsing through the used car's for sale at our local Toyota dealer, when I saw the Chrysler Pacifica Touring and fell completely in love. The gas mileage is absolutely horrendous (averages about 19 mpg), but my husband works from home so the car will mostly be used for me in my soccer mom role. So, I went to see it, sat myself behind the wheel and stroked the walnut trim and rang my husband and said : "I love it. I want it. Can I buy it please?", and he said yes! So I did. It was a 2 year old (2005 model) with 28K on the clock for $23,000. Perfect.

Two hours later I returned home minus one Sonata and with the most beautiful car in the world! Well, to us anyway! Six months later and we have no regrets and continue to shout the praises of this car. We use four seats normally and can set up the back of the car so you don't even realise there are two other seats folded into the trunk, but when family comes to visit, we can move the children to the back and the grown ups get the beautiful captains seats in the middle. We don't have many of the added extra's and are hoping to get them added in over the course of time when the budget allows it. It's roomy, it's comfortable, it feels "safe" when I'm driving in it with the kids. It's got a ton of cargo space when we use just the four seats, but the cargo room is tiny when you have all six seats up, but I'll take this to have a mini-van that looks as cool as mine!

Love it! Love it! Love it! (The picture added is the one the dealer took of our car!)

Glad you are still loving it! I hate when you get a new car and it turns out to be a bad choice!

The Pacifica is certainly a very nice ride. Glad to hear it's treating you well.
