with the economy of today, i find the commercialism of christmas very distressing. i see parents are forced to make purchases of expensive clothing and toys to please their children's peer pressure lifestyle.
seems to be dictating a meaning to the season which is based on the dollar, not the spirit...

One of my most favorite holidays is Christmas! I love to that time of the year. I love to decorate the Christmas tree and sing christmas carols. I just love to celebrate this time of the year. I do get a little stressed buying gifts. I like to make things though. I am a bargin hunter and sometimes I do get things for my family months in advance if it is on sale. When i was a little kid my parents would take me and my four older sisters driving around town to see all the houses that we decorated with the lights. I loved to do that. I love Christmas as much as the next person.
But what's happening to the season of giving? And where's Jesus?
With all the turmoil in the world and just the price of living I really hoped for a less commercial holiday. When my children were younger Christmas seemed so simple. No on Halloween the stores start pulling out the christmas decorations and sell, sell.
