Christ the Lord Out of Egypt Reviews

Being a Believer, Jesus holds a special place in my life and heart.  Reading this book from the viewpoint of Anne Rice about the life of Jesus as a young lad, gave me a whole other level of perspective.  In no way can I say I am a Bible scholar.  However, I know enough to know her facts are accurate and I believe her research to be accurate.  The descriptions gave me the feeling of being right there in the midst of everything.  I hated to see the last page of the story.  Being a long time Anne Rice fan, the notes at the end of this story about what… read full review »

I must admit that I was a little scared to open this book.  I avoided buying it when it was out in hardback and waited until it came out in paperback so that I could only invest $6 or so.  That way if it took a wrong turn in chapter 2 I wouldn't have too feel like I was throwing away a lot of money.  I have been a big fan of Anne Rice for years...I love her vampires but loved her witches even more.  I'm a big fiction buff and can separate the fantasy that I read from the reality of history.  I'm also a very strong Christian and felt that Anne Rice tackling the… read full review »

Religion tries to bring God to us in an endless variety of ways. Christianity points to the New Testament and tells us that Jesus had experiences that parallel our own and overcame similar difficulties and moral dilemas. Rice gives us a glimps of growing up with Him, or more truly more awsome, of the responsibility of parenting Him.
