Signing Time!
The Signing Time line of videos are a wonderful way to introduce young children to sign language. Sign language is a great way to help children to communicate even before they can speak words. I used these videos with each of my daughters, one who is cognitively normal and one who is cognitively delayed. I believe the videos benefitted both of them greatly in terms of language development.
VeggieTales Movies
My family loves the veggie tale movies- They are very well done! Really fun to watch! They have fun stories and silly songs. My kids are 10, 8, and 6 and love the movies. Great for both boys and girls alike. They have good moral lessons on sharing, being kind, listening to mom and dad, being brave. . . They are Christian in theme but do not push any one religion or Church. They have lots of spin off items-CDs, stuffed animals, books. . . I saw that a new video on St. Nicholas(Santa Claus)is out this Christmas 2009. Great way to introduce a bit of faith into a child's life without coming accross...
review »LeapFrog: Letter Factory
Ponyo
I don't know when this will be available on DVD, but we can't wait. It is a delightful movie. This will be another Disney Classic for years to come. A really cute well done movie and a must see. We saw it several times.
Leap Frog: Letter Factory Learning DVD
As a parent it seems natural to want educational toys and videos for your kids, but I was skeptical of the Leapfrog Letter Factory DVD when it first came out. There didn't seem to be enough to draw my son in and make him want to keep watching -- BOY was I wrong! I heard over and over from friends about how much their kids LOVED this move, and finally I requested it from our local library. Our oldest son was hooked right away, asking for it any time he was allowed to watch a movie in the house or in the van. It, with out question, helped him to learn the letter names and their sounds. Our...

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
This movie was funny. My girls liked it so much that they are now addicted to the show the Penguins of Madagascar. They have watched the movie many times now and still enjoy all the funny parts.
Disney's TinkerBell
What's funny is as I'm writing this, I am actually watching Tinkerbell with my 4 year old daughter. The classic film Peter Pan is one of my very favorite Disney movies. I also knowing more about a character that I love. The story basically tells you about all the fairies of Neverland, and it takes place before she even meets Peter Pan. Oh it's just so magical. The music is pretty good too! Oh and there are just some funny characters that my daughter and I are always laughing about.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a must-have movie for every collection. The Diamond Edition includes both a regular DVD as well as the blu-ray edition of the film. This is something I greatly appreciate with four young children--the regular DVD can be used by them to watch over and over while the Blu-ray film remains pristine in our collection.
Snow White is one of my favorites of all Disney's films. It is not only a classic movie, but one that has ingrained itself in American culture. This particular release includes bonus features such as Disney's Family Play and Backstage Disney. ...
