My Little Guy Loves This Food

By

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula Dry Dog Food:

My husband and I had the opportunity to help a friend out by taking a 3 month old Silky Terrier they couldn't take care of. I practically had to beg my husband since we were engaged and moving in togther in a few months. He finally agreed after meeting the pup and decided we were going to buy the best food possible for him. He has such a beautiful silky coat and we wanted to keep it that way. This food is wonderful! We started off with the puppy formula and he loved it!! He is now 2 and has moved onto the adult formula for quite some time now. We like that it has all real products in it and not the fillers you find in almost all brands of dog food. It is a bit on the pricey side if you want to compare it to pedigree & all the other regular name brand dog foods. However, you are getting your money worth & your dog is reaping the health benefits. My only con about this brand of dog food is it's not easy to find at all. We used to live in a suburban area but moved to the city about a year ago. We have to travel back to the suburban area just to buy his food. Although I love that they sell 18lb bags. We just buy the big bag and it lasts forever since he is only an 8lb dog. I still feel it deserved 5 stars but they should sell it in more local stores!!

Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul ia a great value

By

Comments about Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula Dry Dog Food:

I want to feed my dogs a premium diet but with three large dogs it's been a struggle to find a food the meets my nutritional requirements that we could also afford. Chicken Soup For The Dog Lovers Soul is a great food at a decent price. There are no fillers, no corn, and easy to digest. I tried to switch my older dogs to their senior formula a few months ago and that didn't go as well, my oldest dog started shedding more and was gassy. She even seemed to have a harder time walking. But as soon as we switched them back to the regular adult formula she perked up a lot. So while there are a lot of great foods on the market, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul is one of the best priced premium foods.

Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula

By

Comments about Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula Dry Dog Food:

I'm not much for health food when it comes to my dogs because they usually don't eat it very well, but my dogs actually like Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula. This is one of a few varieties I switch between, the others being Kibbles and Bits and Alpo Come and Get it, both fine dog foods in their own right. This stuff is a little on the pricey side, though not as bad as some premium brands, and I'm not really fond of the shape of the product. Looks like Cheerios. But my dogs don't seem to mind and eat it without much fuss. I'm not saying they tear into it like a steak, but they do fine with it. The first ingredients listed are Chicken and Turkey, so that can't be a bad thing. Better than something you can't pronounce. It's nutritious, balanced, contains antioxidants for promised good health, and is recommended by my veterinarian. Seems I've been spoiling my dogs for years and now they need some healthier chow. So I give it to them, they like it, it's good for them, they don't care as long as their bellies get full, and the world keeps turning. So try Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul. You might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

My dogs love this food!

By

Comments about Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula Dry Dog Food:

We have 2 dogs, a 1 year old puppy, and a 7 year old. They both love this food and eat it up. They are in excellent health and I love that this food has lots of real, natural food in it. They are both in excellent health with good check-ups and ideal weight. While this food is more expensive than some brands, we actually find that we feed our dogs less scoops of food per day and the bag of food lasts longer. So we find ourselves buying dog food less often and feel the price difference pays for itself over time. This is because with less filler, the dogs require less food daily to meet their nutritional requirements than other, less expensive brands. Also, they never have digestive problems, which is a huge plus!

Love this dog food!

By

Comments about Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula Dry Dog Food:

We have a beagle/Basset we rescued that has a tendincy to get a dry coat. We have tried many different dog food brands, grocery store types to pet store types and after doing some research we decided to try Chicken Soup for Dog Lovers Soul. This food has been the best we have tried. My dog's coat is alot healthier and shiny. Normally it would take our dog all day to eat but he actually eats his food right away now.

I like the fact that the Chicken Soup Brand has no by products. I didn't think the price was bad at all either compared to some of the other pet store brands we were trying previously. I do wish the company would offer coupons or participate in sales at my local pet store though. It seems like every brand but this one does, atleast in my local area.

I plan on feeding my dog this for the rest of his happy life. Glad to see they also carry Senior Formula so I won't need to switch brands again.

Good Quality Ingredients, but not for Our Dog!

By

from Virginia Beach, VA

Comments about Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula Dry Dog Food:

I fed our Alaskan Malamute Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Dog food a few years ago.  I started using it because it was a great food with good ingredients, and it has less of the yuckies in it which are bad for our furry friends.  I would have continued using it, but it gave our dog the MOST terrible gas.  We've fed her quality food since we've owned her (Canidae, Innova, Healthwise, Taste of the Wild) and the gas has NEVER EVER been even close to as bad as when she was eating Chicken Soup dog food.  You've heard of "clear the room" kind of gas?  It was "clear the house" kind of gas.  We could have been in our bedroom with the door shut and she could have been in the living room and we still would have had to open the windows to breathe.  I hope that it was just a rare side effect that affected our dog, but I've heard that a few other dog owners had the same complaint.  It's too bad, I really wanted to like this food.  Our dog did, but we just couldn't deal with it.  After a few weeks, we gave the food away and went back to Canidae.

best high grade food for your pet in this price category

By

from Madison, WI

Comments about Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Dog Formula Dry Dog Food:

I tried all the fancy high proteien, low grain content foods to help the Boston Terrier we rescued get into her best health. I paid for the super premium brands like Wellness, California Naturals, Nutro Max, and Iams, and they all either made her skin itchy or she wouldn't eat it.

I was leery of the cheesy name but my vet recommended it as one fo the more "strong scented" dog foods, hoping that it would spark the dog's appetite if it smelled strongly of meat rather than grain. She loves it! She has lost a few pounds on the regular adult formula, feeding the recommeded amount for her weight on the package, adn she is in perfect shape. She is well-muscled, her coat is shiny, she is not shedding, and her daily poos are firm and regular.

For the relatively low price in the premium food category, this is the very best food you can buy for your dog!
