As a first time parent and former nanny, the most important thing to me was the safety of the seat. After reading many reviews, both government and independent, I finally settled on the Chicco Keyfit. First of all, it was in the top 3 as far as safety ratings go. Second it's one of the lightest carseats on the market. The last thing I want to do is add extra weight when I'm carrying around a heavy baby. Third the ease of use. This carseat was extremly easy and quick to install, which makes taking the base out to wash my car or ride in someone elses car easy to do. And now that my son is 7 months old, I can honestly say I'm 100% satisfied with our purchase. We purchased the travel system. The stroller is amazing too. It's smooth and quiet. It's easy to get the carseat in and out of the stroller, which is especially important when my son is sleeping. I love that the stroller is collapsable with only one hand. I would and do recommend this car seat to every expecting mommy that I meet.
