Chicco KeyFit Car Seat Review

Overall 4.65 of 5 (by 17 users)

Good carseat overall, but might not be worth the extra $$.

I've been happy with our carseat, but would buy a different one were I to do it over again.  Neither the lining of the carseat nor the straps are removable for thorough washing, which would seem like a must and a no-brainer to me.  I do like the easily adjustable system for getting baby in and out.  Our baby seems very comfortable in it, and the material doesn't seem to exacerbate hot or cold weather.

My main precaution is to check recent safety precautions with this carseat base system, as I read after purchasing mine that it didn't crash test well.  As a result, I often attach the carseat to the base, AND secure the carseat with the seatbelt option.

At the time of our purchase, I thought I was paying more money for better quality and safety.  Now, I'm pretty sure I paid more for the brandname and chic look.  I'd go with the cheaper Graco next time around.

I do not know how many times I have taken my sons carseat apart to wash it, and I too have the Chicco Keyfit. Just thought I would let you know that they can be taken apart.
