Chicco Capri Stroller: Glad Toys R Us Let Me Return It!
So now that my daughter is in preschool, I wanted a lightweight single stroller to take my toddler out in the mornings for a walk through the mall, the neighborhood, or a park. Of course, I didn't want to pay a lot of money, but wanted something durable and functional.
After reading TONS of reviews praising the Chicco brand, I stopped at my local Toys R Us and found the Chicco Capri Stroller. I pushed the floor model around on the carpeted floor, and didn't think it was too bad. So, I made my purchase.
That night I was excited to try out our new stroller, and unboxed it. The plus side was the stroller came right out of the box assembled except for the canopy. I just had to unfold the stroller, pop on the canopy, and we were set! The stroller also came with a canvas carrying bag, but, seriously, who is going to stick the stroller in that bag? Just seems like a waste of material to me.
We set out for a quick walk through our neighborhood after dinner. I put my small toddler in the stroller, and we were off. The stroller sure wasn't handling the bumpy driveway or slightly smooth sidewalk as well as it did the carpeted floor at the store. I also had to walk so close to the stroller just to keep it straight my feet kept kicking the wheels. I'm 5' 5" with short legs, so anyone over that height would REALLY have problems with this stroller!
As we started going down a huge hill, I started panicking. I thought for certain I was going to lose my grip on the stroller. I was hunched over and holding on with my all might, plus I was still kicking the tires. At that point I said forget it, let's go back home.
The Chicco Capri Stroller went back to Toys R Us, and we got a refund. I'm so thankful they allowed us to return it. Avoid this stroller, and go with Graco. Graco is not as lightweight, but it sure is a better stroller!
