Chicco Cortina Travel System Review

When I was pregnant and shopping for baby gear, quality and safety were two of the top things I was looking for, especially in a product like this that my daughter would spend so much time in. Chicco has a reputation for both so their travel system was at the top of my list.

It is super easy to fold and unfold. I'm not the strongest person in the world and I have a fairly small trunk on my car, but I've never had a problem getting the stroller into or out of my car and it pops up quickly. I'm constantly running around, so that's important for me. The carrier/car seat has a five-point harness, which is a great feature, and it is very, very easy to get in and out of the base and the stroller. There's just one latch that you release at the back - so simple!

I love the Chicco color schemes because they're neutral. We had a little girl, but we plan on having another child pretty soon and we wanted to be able to use this system again even if we have a boy. Plus, I'm not into "baby pastels" so Chicco's more modern gray/orange or gray/green color schemes are right up my alley.

There are two things I don't like about this system, but they're the only complaints I have. 1) when you have the carrier latched into the stroller, the basket underneath is difficult to get to. Without the carrier, it's no problem and it's actually quite roomy. I've been able to pack quite a lot into it at times. 2) the carrier doesn't work for me when I'm using a shopping cart. I am very short (5'4") and when I have the carrier in the front part of a shopping cart, I can't see over the top of it. For someone taller, this would certainly not be an issue.

To sum up, overall this is a fantastic, sturdy product. I have used it a ton for everything from running errands to walks in the neighborhood to vacations to street festivals and fairs. I've used it on smooth pavement, sidewalks and on rough terrain. It has served us well and continues to do so. I would definitely recommend this product and will continue to use Chicco's products myself.
