Chicago has it all! Sight seeing, shopping, museums, you name it! It is a great place for a family vacation especially if your children are old enough to appreciate the fabulous museums there...Shedd Aquarium with its Beluga whales and the Field museum of Natural History with A full sized African elephant, a complete T-Rex skeleton, and a world class Egyptian display including the mummy of Ramses II (remember Moses and the Pharoah who chased him across the Red Sea?). Also (my personal favorite) is the Museum of Science and Industry. Here you will find a working coal mine, an entire captured U-boat, Colleen Moore's dollhouse (spectacular!!! every little girl's fantasy), a giant walk-through heart and much much more! There is Navy Pier, a children's museum, shopping, shopping, and more shopping, Lake Michigan, boat cruises. I could go on and on. About a 30 minute drive outside Chicago is the exquisite B'hai Temple with architecture which reminds you more of Europe of the middle East than of the US.. Lastly there is the food! Chicago style pizza up to 5 star dining. What more could you want?
