We all have gadgets around the house that use batteries and they don't last very long until they need replaced. However some of us use rechargeable batteries as we know it saves us money in the long run. I go through a lot myself with my Solar Powered Lights, Wireless Remotes for the TV, Game systems and Flashlights. So I need to replace mine about once every 18 months and they don't come cheap. So when I saw these at Harbor Freight I decided to give them a try as they are much less expensive than the Big Brands out there.

Chicago Electric AA Ni-Cad Rechargeable Battery

These come in a 4 pack and cost me $4.99 so the price is a grabber right there. These are supposed to be able to be recharged up to 800 times and are made of Nickle Cadmium. These are rated at 700 mah (700 milliamps per hour) which is enough to run most anything that uses a AA battery in it. The package gives these as some of the uses: Portable CD Players, Digital Cameras, High Performance Toys, Portable Computers and other Portable Equipment. So they will work in a wide range of applications.

The first time I charged them it only took about 3 hours to charge them up and I have been using them in my Wii Controller for a week now and they are still going strong. My other ones last about 1 1/2 weeks so these are right on par with them and they cost $13 for 4 of them. So now for almost a 1/3 the price I am getting the same usage from them, makes me feel good all over saving all that money and getting the same quality!

Bottom Line

No longer will I spend $3 and some change a piece for rechargeable batteries, now that I can get 4 of them for the same price! I am a bargain hunter and I love it when a plan comes together! I have 12 Solar lights and that means I used to pay $39 to replace the batteries in them, not anymore now it will only cost me $15! These come in many sizes as well such as AA, AAA, C, D, and 9 Volt. You can get these at Harbor Freight and their website is located at www.harborfreightusa.com, the item number for the AA size is 47440.

I see you are also a Harbor Freight shopper :) My hubby loves that store and visits almost weekly.

Maybe I should get some of these. I've heard that the gov't is confiscating peoples lithium batteries in airports these days. As the National Battery Association sez: "When batteries are outlawed, only outlaws will have batteries."

These sound great. My headphones from Sharper Image gobble up AAA's like they are going out of style!
