Chi Flat Iron Review Summary

Everywhere you go, you'll hear the same thing. The Chi Flat Iron is the bomb! Our reviewers adore this pricey flat iron-- priced at over $100. Users say the Chi straightening iron has high heat, does no damage and that their hair keeps the style for days. Erica9641 says, "The Chi iron straightens your hair fast and easy." The silk infusion system makes hair silky, shiny, and frizz free but could weigh very fine or oily hair down a bit. The original chi iron does not offer an automatic shut off feature or temperature setting. The Chi Turbo, however, does provide a temperature setting and some safety features. Regardless of the model, stylists and consumers alike say the Chi iron is the best flat iron, with Sgmike2000 commenting, "The Chi Flat Iron is worth its weight in gold." I am the proud owner of hair that hates humidity. My hair gets wavy and frizzy and drives me nuts during the summer months! In the past (primarily when I was pregnant), I had so little time to do my hair that I opted for a Japanese hair straightening process called Thermal Reconditioning. The process... read full review »

I really like how this product works, it straightens the hair great.  Because it's thinner than most hair straighteners it allows for it to get close to the scalp and really straighten.  I have naturally curly hair that used to take me up to 2 hours to straighten but with the Chi it has allowed me... read full review »

Have thick hair, a person with long hair, Need reliable product, trying to take good care of my hair

The Chi iron was an expensive purchase ($115) when I bought it. But for a product that I've used at least 5 times a week for the past two years, it was worth it. I always used to straighten my hair with a blow dryer and round brush, but it never looked as sleek and soft as I wanted it to look. I tried all different kinds of flat irons (the maxiglide, and mostly just inexpensive flat irons from shopping centers, but they never gave me the look I wanted.) The Chi iron straightens your hair fast and easy. My hair comes down to about the middle of my back, and it takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to... read full review »

I work in the beauty industry. I sell Chi flat irons on a daily basis. OK, when they first came onto the market about 6 or 7 years ago, they were the best thing since sliced bread. Lately, I have been getting them back at least once a day. Their quality has been going down the last couple of years. They are so bent on mass-producing them that their quality has hit almost rock bottom. They short-out very quickly, their cords dont hold up, and they are pulling hair. To me, this doesn't sound like a good product, especially for the price. But yet, they are selling like crazy, mainly because of the... read full review »

This product work great for what seems like all air types.  He heats up fast and leaves hair silky.  It even does curls and flips very well.  It fit in your hand nicely and doesn't hurt your wrist to use it. I would not use it everyday but that would be the case with any hot tool wheter ceramic tourmaline ionic, etc.  it is still not good to use all the time.  Givve hair a break once in a while and then it will not bet damages or broken.  I use almost every day but just on front pieces of hair but they are breaking.  It is so quick to use that I let my hair suffer a little just to style... read full review »

I am a cosmotologist and have used several differant flat irons...this one is my favorite. You can flip, straighten, even create pretty spiral curls. Easy to use for pros or anyone. Makes hair very shiny and easy to manage. Works well on caucasian and ethnic hair too. Travels well. Heats up very hot, very fast

Words can't describe what i would do if i had no chi iron.  My hair isn't curly; it isn't even really wavy, but how the chi makes my hair shine and look ten times better after using it makes this one of those have-to-have items.  I only really use it on the weekends when i have some big plans to go out dancing or something of the sort.  Thus, one of the drawbacks:  hair damages from heat.  There are several products out there made by chi that may be used in conjunction with the iron to help protect from heat damage, so i recommend those also.  Yes, it is a little expensive but i purchased... read full review »

My daughter got a Chi flat iron for Christmas and it works great.  She and I both use it daily.  It makes my life easier.  It does the job quick.  It really gets hair straight.  It smooths the frizzes.  We both really love it!  It does get very hot so I wouldn't recommend it for small children.  It is also pricey, but a really good investment.  Worth the money!

chi, chi, chi!!!  I love my chi!!!

if you have curl to your hair and want to straighten it, chi will do it.

if you have no curl in your hair, chi will curl it without leaving that curling iron look.

chi is the best when it comes to flat irons

I started straightening my hair when i was in seventh grade and it seemed to have changed my life. I started off of course with a cheap straightener that would kind of straighten my hair. enough to be noticed to the least. as i grew older i learned of the newer and better types of straighteners like ones from conair. I eventually upgraded to the wet to dry type of straightener although i was always.. and still am to afraid to use it on my wet hair because i am scared of my hair frying and falling out. well that eventually grew old on me pretty quick considering the fact that it did straighten...

The  product  Chi CHI Hair Straight iron  is a  great  product ! Many  people  that I  know  has  one. If  your  hair is dry, you  can straighten  it in a  breeze, if  your hair is  wet  then you  can also  straighten it  better than  any other  hair  straighteners on the  shelf. I personaly  would  recomenend this  straightener  to anyone  and  everyone that  needs a good  hair straightener.  My hair is always messy. It is never  straight, it is never tangle free,  it is never  sleek and sophisticated.  Sometimes  my  wavy  hair can  be  tamed  by ...

I purchased my chi over a year and a half ago and it still works just as well as it did when i first used it. I have thick, wavy hair and it takes me about 10-15 minutes to make my hair straight. Which is super, cause who has the time to stand around in the bathroom all day trying to achieve perfectly straight hair? Make sure to use a heat protector on your hair before using the Chi, or any other heat styling product for that matter.
You are also supposed to be able to use it like a curling iron, and I've actually seen people do this, but I have had no personal luck with this technique.

I use this tourmaline ceramic flat iron almost daily in my salon & it is worth the extra bucks.
I need a professional tool like this that not only will stand up to multi daily use on clients, but works quickly & efficiently.I also use it to add curl to hair,it works quite well in this capacity also.
I've had it for over 2 years & have had NO problems with it;I highly recommend this product for those who are willing to pay extra for something that DOES deliver as promised!

Need I say more? I have very fine hair and should probably be using the turbo for temp. control, but I use Aveda Brilliant Damage Control and it minimizes any damage caused by the heat.

I've heard people say that they fall apart after a year or so, but I've had mine for 4 years. As long as you don't beat it around or mistreat it, it will last a LONG time. If yours is falling apart, it's because you're not taking care of it.
