I absolutely love my Chi 1" Flat Iron. I have had it for a few years now and it has always performed well.
The cord is very long so you can walk around while using the iron without fear of jerking yourself or your hair from a too-short cord.
The iron heats up VERY quickly which is great if you're in a hurry.
It has an on/off switch which you need because there is no automatic shut off.
The outside of the iron stays pretty cool which is important. I've used other, titanium irons and their outer shells get far too hot to handle. Not good if, again, you're in a hurry.
As far as performance goes, the Chi works great. It's not suitable for use on damp hair so you do have to begin with thoroughly dry locks.
It's simple to use. Just slide it right down the hair shaft (use small chunks of hair).
Touch-up is easy too. If the first pass doesn't get the hair straight, the second one usually does. No need to keep going over and over and over again.
The only drawback I've had with my Chi is that my hair does tend to get caught and pulled under the ceramic plate at times. Otherwise, I love it!
