The 1" Chi straightening iron is wonderful. I've used the chi for at least 8 years now, and while my hair does get dry if I don't use some sort of "heat tamer" or biosilk before using the flat iron, it still looks SO much better after than before. I don't know what I'd do without my chi. I almost always buy a backup just incase something happens to it, but at the moment, I don't have a backup....
I like to flat iron half of my hair and compare it to the other half and the results are amazing. Even after using this flat iron for years and years, the difference in how flat ironed hair and super frizzy hair looks is just incredible. And it only takes me about 3 minutes at the very most do do my hair and that's if I pull it up and flat iron it in sections. Most of the time I can be done in less than 2 minutes.
A word of advice, don't use the flat iron on your hair before your hair is fully dry or it will cause damage. i learned that the hard way. I love my chi and hope everyone else that tries it does too!
