Chevrolet Impala - 2006 Review Summary

The 2006 Chevrolet Impala is rated as a dependable and safe sedan by Viewpoint reviewers. What else do our reviews love about the Chevrolet Impala? It gets decent gas mileage at 21 mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway with conventional fuel. The Chevrolet Impala 2006 model is also a flexible fuel vehicle and accepts the ethanol blend, E85. I had been driving SUVs for the last ten years due to five kids at home. We are now down to two at home and I decided to get a car for better mileage.

Two things that were a must were a big trunk (for tuba, shopping, etc.) and large back seat for two teenage boys that are over six feet tall. The Impala...

I recently had to fly out to Philadelphia for the weekend on business to represent my IT department, and provide IT support, at a conversion of a branch office.  So I needed a rental car.  I picked Budget Rent-a-Car to provide my rental for the weekend.  I was supposed to get a mid-sized car, but...

My father has a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, which I've driven often (mostly on long road trips, 3500 miles round-trip). He bought this car new to replace his 2000 Chevrolet Impala when it developed a big electrical problem. Naturally my review will compare/contrast the two cars, since Chevrolet updated the car between these model years, and the two cars are similar but with important differences due to these updates (and some equipment variation, since the two cars have different options).  I've put a similar review for the 2000 Chevrolet Impala on this site.

His 2006 Chevrolet Impala is a base...

The 2006 Chevy Impala has got to be the best car of the whole fleet Chevy produces. Comfort starts before you even get in as you can start the car from inside your warm house on that cold day simply by pressing a button on your key fob. The comfort and luxury surrounds you the moment you sit down. The eight way adjustable seat and tilt wheel allows almost anyone from very tall to very small to drive comfortably. Heated seats for those long, hard work days to help you relax on your way home(not too much of course).  To help you get home it has the power when you need it and handles like a dream... review »

I am a truck person at heart so I wasn't immediately in love.

After my first long distance ride I realized that the comfort of the driver's seat alone was worth the cost of the vehicle.  It was one of the selling points but has turned into the most important factor in daily use.

On Star, while not a selling point for me, does add ease and security to the car.  As a single girl I like the option of getting help anywhere, anytime.  I have only used it once in two years but it was a great assistance.  Returning from a busines trip out of town I found my battery dead, unable even to start.  I called...

I love my Chevy Impala. I bought it back in October of 2006. It had 10,000 miles on it but was like brand new. I got a very good deal on it. I was looking for a car that I could just be comfrtable in, as I travel alot. I tried toyota, ford, etc etc all the dealers...it didn't matter to me, I wanted a car to sit and be  comfotable in. It is also a bigger car and the gas milage is so good. I get on avereage between highway and city 26 miles per gallon. Even with GM having all of their financial problems I am not afraid of buying another one or poosibly not being able to find parts. They have been...

We purchased our Impala in September of 2007 and we really enjoy it.  It offers luxury car features with an affordable price tag!  I love the black leather in ours, it's so sleek!  The gas mileage is awesome too - we average about 27 mpg on the highway which is nice considering you feel like you're in a large, comfy, and safe vehicle.  The heated seats have been a great plus this winter too!  The only two negatives I can comment on is that the passenger front seat rides a little higher and stiffer than the driver's side and there is a slight shimmy in the steering wheel which several dealers... review »

being a cadillac owne for the last 20 years we decided to buy a economical car, since now we are both on disability we needed something more affordable.  so we bought an impala by chevrolete and i tell you it is a great car.  mileade is anywhere from 28 to 33 and it may not have all the buttons and whistles of the cadillac but it come close.  the ride is sn't ad coffy but its not bad for the diffrene in cost for anyone who wants comfort and luxury for a minnimal cost the impala is a nice care and a great deal for the money.  check it out if you in the market for a new or used car.

I am married and have two grown boys that are over 6' tall. They can both sit in the back seat comfortably without their knees into their chins. The trunk space is wonderful when I go to the local Sam's Club that I can fit everything into the trunk. There is also a lot of leg room in the front seat for the driver and the passenger. I would highly recommend this car especially on the fuel efficiency. I drove over 650 miles on one tank of gas when I drove from Tennessee to Michigan. We figured it to get 36 miles to a gallon on the highway. Kudos to Chey for making such a great car.

The Chevy 2006 Impala is one fine car.  It has a roomy interior for a car load of adults to sit comfortably. With reclining bucket seats and airbags both front and sides, you will feel safe.  The exterior is sleek and we tinted our windows which makes it look very classy.  Fuel mileage is wonderful for this size of car, About 28mpg on the highway and 20 mpg in town. You'll enjoy driving this car which has plenty of power to get you where you want to go with front wheel drive.

Recently purchased a used 2006 Chevy Impala.  Great car.  Good gas milage.  Took a trip from northeastern IL to eastern TN (over 500 miles) on 1 and 1/4 tank of gas.  Great family car with amazing trunk space.  Room for stroller grocceries and more! Only negative thing is that the seats can be a little uncomfortable at first.  Takes some getting used to because they are designed for lumbar support.

I bought this car a couple month ago and it is really great.  My only complaint is that the auto start doesn't warm the inside of the car.  It just warms the engine.  The other weird thing is that the car won't put heat out if you are parked.  It waits until the car is actually moving for it to put out warm air.  What an odd "feature."

I bought this car in 2005 brand new and I love it. It rides great, gets good gas mileage and is roomy enough for a family. I highly reccomend this car to everyone who is interested in getting around in style and affordability. I am a Chevy guy but even if I wasn't I would still love this car, I am a bigger guy and it is extremely roomy and comfortable.

This is probably one of the best rides I've ever driven.  I can't say enough good things about this car.  Very comfortable.  We drove From S.E. Texas to Maine (36 hours of driving) with 4 adults and a toddler, and was much more comfortable than any vehicle we have made that journey with.
