My husband had just bought the 2006 HHR in February of that year.  It was his very first brand new car ever!  I had to drive to Kansas City, KS from Oklahoma City in May, and since my Rodeo needed transmission work, I borrowed the HHR for this trip.  At 12:30 in the morning, on my… read full review »

We bought this car a year ago, and now trying to get rid of it. It's beautiful on the outside, looks like a classic car, and we have been getting lots of compliments on it because of its looks. It is gas efficient compared to many other vehicles. But it is cheaply built, and that is its worst… read full review »

The pros: — The first thing I loved about this car was it's looks. After driving it, I had to have one. The car is very quiet at cruising speeds and gets great gas mileage. The optional leather seats are heated and very comfortable. As a matter of fact, I love the way the interior looks. The utility and room in this car are excellent. The remote start - I don't think I'll ever own another car without one. — — The cons: Although the engine is peppy enough it's very loud when accelerating. The window switches are down by the shifter and even after owning it for over a year I… read full review »

I ordered my HHR mid 2005 and it came in on November 11, 2005. I actually was the first person to purchase an HHR, but unfortunately, since I ordered it special, I was not the first one on the road. — — I absolutely love my car. It is very stylish, comfortable, roomy, and wonderful on gas mileage. I get 27-28 mpg around town and 34-39 traveling. It drives smooth and feels like you are floating on the road. — — Aside from my camaros, this is truly the best car I have driven. Want a great look for less, Get an HHR. —… read full review »

We were in the market a couple years ago for a new SUV for my wife.  She was eyeing many models that were well into the $40,000 range, so we were trying to figure out what we could afford and what we couldn't.  I was at a local Chevy dealer getting an oil change for my truck when I saw the HHR sitting in the showroom.  The look of the vehicle just mesmerized me instantly.  I called my wife and asked her to come with me that afternoon to see what she thought.  She fell in love instantly.  And since the price was almost 1/2 what we were looking at for her initially… read full review »

We have a Chevrolet Tahoe and when the price of gas went sky high getting 10 miles to the gallon wasn't cutting it so off we went car shopping. We looked around for quite awhile and the HHR seemed to be the only car with a decent price tag, decent gas mileage and a decent look. This is a little car that big SUV people can learn to love. — — There are many models to choose from: LT, LS, 1LT & 1 LS, along with some special additions. We got the LS, the base model automatic with no extra bells and whistles. The nice thing about the LT is it comes from a few bells and whistles… read full review »

I purchased my LT HHR in Oct 2006 and loved it. Sunburst Metalic Orange, moon roof, running boards, XM (WHICH WE LOVE), chrome (which we HATE) and power everything. No on-star which we should of gotten. — Mid 2007 I was hit in the parking lot of my apt complex doing less than 5 miles per hour. THe damage wasn't extensive but cost to the "other" party $5000 in damages and I am still paying for it. After they "fixed" it, the problem with the car still exists. The front end still has this "knocking" noise that no one at GM can diagnose. No one, I have had it in the shop so many times that… read full review »

This is a great vehicle with plenty of power and very responsive. Very good on gas mileage and having gotten the panel van version very very useful!!!!! Love the car and don't have a bad thing to say about it. Should have gotten one sooner. It is great for outings and long rides - there is plenty of room for the big dog yet the ride is comfortable with plenty of room to carry stuff. There are even hidden compartments to put things so the dog doesn't eat them. It has all the latest bells and whistles and yet is economical and feels very secure. We have had no problems with the vehicle and just… read full review »

This car is amazing. Great price, great gas mileage, excellent look and handle. The HHR delivers as promised. It has a lot of get up and go for a smaller vehicle. There is more leg and head room than it seems at first glance. It was disappointing that no one seemed to be able to service the vehicle - including oil changes. But we were the first in our area to get one. Once they called the factory and got directions then all went well. There is a rattle that the dealer seems to think is in my head but it's defintely there, maybe in the AC vents up front. I did find it odd the placement of the… read full review »

I just love this vehicle! I have owned mine for a year and a half now, I've driven over 30,000 miles, and it's been the perfect car. I can fit almost anything in it just as I would an SUV, yet I have the comfort in handling as I would in a sedan. The roominess although not overly moderate is just enough for me alone or if my the teenage children are in there with me. I've driven long and short distances, and as my daily driver I could not ask for anything more. The stability in performance, and gas mileage can not compare to any other vehicle I've owned, borrowed, driven, rented, or… read full review »

Just bought a used 2006 HHR and absolutely love it. The only problem we had with it was the mirror switch went bad but it was replaced no problems asked. I have a black one with the chrome on the mirrors. I love that it is a mini SUV and it has a lot of room in it which was the deciding factor for my husband because he is 6'3" and he needed something that he could fit in not to mention he needed something that was good on gas because he drives 30 miles one way to work everyday. I will definitely buy another one when this one craps… read full review »

I bought my 2006 HHR in Oct 2006. This car has been fantastic. It's only been in the shop once and that was for a recall. Gas mileage is great. Very comfortable, no matter how long the trip. Plenty of room for my kids and great cargo area. I love that you can lift up the floor of the cargo area so when you are shopping you can store the bags where they can't be seen. The only wish I would have would be all wheel drive on future models. I live in the country and have difficulty in the snow occassionally. Otherwise, this car is a… read full review »

I traded in my Pathfinder which was almost twice the — money i spent on this car and I have been 100% more — happy with this than my Pathfinder.  The remote start — open has been a life saver. I will never own another — car without it!  The back is roomy enough — to load boxes and my stroller and gives it the — feel of an SUV without the SUV gas mileage and price tag! — Love it! —… read full review »

I bought my car in January 2007 as a left over 2006.  Was going to buy a Chevy Cobalt and went inside the dealership to order it a special color.  Inside was this beautiful Sunburst Orange HHR and I fell in love with it.  For a few dollars more than the Cobalt, I got my HHR full loaded.  What a wonderful deal I got.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, when it's time to get another… read full review »

This is actually my husband's vehicle but I have driven it a few times.  It drives great and is beyond great on gas mileage.  It is just not my style.  But, it was comfortable on a long trip we took and has plenty of storage space for luggage and packages.  This is going to be our daughter's first car when she turns sixteen in March. —… read full review »
