The first thing I loved about this car was it's looks. After driving it, I had to have one. The car is very quiet at cruising speeds and gets great gas mileage. The optional leather seats are heated and very comfortable. As a matter of fact, I love the way the interior looks. The utility and room in this car are excellent. The remote start - I don't think I'll ever own another car without one.
The cons: Although the engine is peppy enough it's very loud when accelerating. The window switches are down by the shifter and even after owning it for over a year I still can't get used to them... review »

We bought this car a year ago, and now trying to get rid of it. It's beautiful on the outside, looks like a classic car, and we have been getting lots of compliments on it because of its looks. It is gas efficient compared to many other vehicles. But it is cheaply built, and that is its worst drawback. We have had to replace several parts in it already. 300 bucks here, 500 there, it ads up for a car this new, if you don't have an extended warranty on it (and that can also get expensive per month). Compared to our 2004 Impala that ran like a kitten for several years without needing a single part...

I absolutely love my car. It is very stylish, comfortable, roomy, and wonderful on gas mileage. I get 27-28 mpg around town and 34-39 traveling. It drives smooth and feels like you are floating on the road.
Aside from my camaros, this is truly the best car I have driven. Want a great look for less, Get an HHR.
We were in the market a couple years ago for a new SUV for my wife. She was eyeing many models that were well into the $40,000 range, so we were trying to figure out what we could afford and what we couldn't. I purchased my LT HHR in Oct 2006 and loved it. Sunburst Metalic Orange, moon roof, running boards, XM (WHICH WE LOVE), chrome (which we HATE) and power everything. No on-star which we should of gotten.
Mid 2007 I was hit in the parking lot of my apt complex doing less than 5 miles per hour. THe damage wasn't extensive but cost to the "other" party $5000 in damages and I am still paying for it. After they "fixed" it, the problem with the car still exists. The front end still has this "knocking" noise that no one at GM can diagnose. I traded in my Pathfinder which was almost twice the
money i spent on this car and I have been 100% more
happy with this than my Pathfinder. The remote start
open has been a life saver. I will never own another
car without it! The back is roomy enough
to load boxes and my stroller and gives it the
feel of an SUV without the SUV gas mileage and price tag!
