Chevrolet Cobalt - 2007 —
I bought this in July instead of an Ion. I can't yet afford the sports car I want, so this is to raise my credit while I save up enough to get the car I really want. Mind you, I drove a V8 Camaro for 6.5 years. The Cobalt is cute and not slow, but certainly nowhere near fast either. The gas mileage is at least decent. The oil life is almost twice as long as my friend's 2007 Civic. If a car going twice as fast as you is about to smash into you, you probably won't have the power necessary to get the heck out of the way, and you had better hope you left you airbag on! Yeah, that's right - these turn off! If you unplug your battery, they are automatically set to off when you turn the car back on, and I haven't yet figured out how to turn it back on. Another annoyance is that the air vents tighten into place when you run the AC, so you had better have them in the right position before you turn the AC on because that is where they'll stay until they're not so frozen. The only pleasant surprize was a small one - there are two power plugs. The battery is in the trunk - not in the engine where the wires could fry like they did five billion times on the Camaro.

I just purchased an '07 Cobalt and was wondering "why" the battery was in the trunk. Nice explanation. I'm still trying to determine if I am getting better gas mileage than my '01 Cavalier.
