Chem Dry of Spotsylvania - - Fredericksburg, VA Review

We have 4 dogs, and I had several stains on my upstairs carpet and area rug in the living room.  The Chem Dry trucks have a dog on the logo and advertise a PURT system which stand for pet urine removal treatment.  This treatment was to pull urine and odors from the carpet, padding and sub flooring.  We received an approximate price quote for this service via telephone and scheduled the appointment.  Upon arrival, the technician advised that the price quote would be several hundred dollars higher, but we agreed, considering that the telephone quoter could not see the scope of the job.

The service promised vaccuming and deep cleaning of carpet, application of the PURT chemical, grooming of carpet and then we opted to pay for an application of a scotch gard type chemical to prevent future stains.  The carpet looked acceptable when the technician left, but once it began to dry, the stains began to resurface.  The urine odor was stronger when he finished than when he started.  The technician explained that was because the chemical process was working.  We were instructed to ventilate the room and allow it 24 hours to work.  After 3 days, we called them and reported the still strong odor and was told to allow 5 days.  They never came out to correct the problem.  The stains in the rug are still there and the scotch gard type chemical did not work to prevent future stains.  For the $700 quoted to repair the problem, I could have replaced the entire carpet.  I DO NOT recommend using this company to anyone.  Horrible waste of time and money!
