My wife bought two silicone pans a few months ago and every-time I went to bake, I assumed they were some crazy contraption to put a hot Pyrex or non stick baking pan into to cool.
How wrong I was! I don't know if I have been asleep for the last several years, but it turns out that they can now make silicone that can resist heat up to 600 degrees. These silicone pans can be used in place of more traditional glass or metal pan. I would not have believed it if I had not tried it myself, but it worked great.
I just baked a apple/blackberry crisp and it came out great. The crisp scooped right...
review »I received a four piece Silicone BakeWare Set for Christmas and I really love it. It's freezer, dishwasher, and Microwave oven safe. It's also safe in the conventional oven up to 500 degrees and it takes up much less space than the standard cookware. It's great.
