There are 12 children in the Gilbreth household run by Frank (Clifton Webb) who teaches his children how to be as efficient as possible-even buttoning their shirts. Mom has to manage the sometimes too stern Dad and they both have to handle the various minor domestic crisis that when multiplied times 12 get just a bit too crazy.
It's a period film so the dated aspects of it are also part of its warmth and charm.
The follow-up film to this was called Belles on Their Toes.
