After a terrible experience with Chase in the 1980's, I decided never to waste my time with them. Unfortunately, they bought my BankOne credit card account in recent years. It was a great points program for Disney I had enjoyed since it was first offered. That program paid for a large portion of 2 Disney trips.
But forget it now. The Disney points are more than offset by outrageous fees and interest charged by Chase. I went from a great low interest rate...to likely the highest rate allowed by law. This for a customer of many years, with solid credit (homeowner for over 20 years, only one credit card, never a default). When I contacted customer service about "fixing" the rate, and seeing what they would do to salvage the relationship....I didn't just get nothing...I got the run around.
This was the year that I got divorced and moved and made a total career change. So I started carrying some credit card debt...and Chase totally abused the situation. Just like they did back in the 80's.
Luckily, I got away from that account. They can't suck 25% interest out of me anymore (can you BELIEVE that???)
