This card accumulates GREAT miles. The annual fee is quite high ($175) but in the long run I find it worth it. In the first year, you can accumulate up to 15,000 elite qualifying miles, and in subsequent years up to 5,000. For purchases at united.com, and grocery, home improvement, gas, and dining, you accumulate 2 points per dollar. All other purchases are 1 point per dollar. With more and more restrictions on the "saver award" flights on United, it is harder to get the flights that you want for the lower rate of 25,000 miles for domestic flights, but you can get any flight you want (domestically) for 50,000, which isn't terrible considering the price of flights these days. Also, Visa is accepted pratically everywhere in the world and I never have trouble getting money from ATMs when my MasterCard is not accepted, although the rates for a cash advance are very high. Overall the APR is not ideal but I mainly pay the card off every month so for me, this is not a huge issue. This card is best for someone who pays off the card every month but uses it to buy everyday purchases and travel purchases, in order to get points.

Wow, that annual fee is really high! I thought that my $45 annual fee with Northwest World Perks was too much but I guess I was getting a deal. Good review.
