I originally had my credit card with Washington Mutual untill it was taken over by JP morgan Chase Credit Card Company in March 2009. I had always paid more than then minimum with Washington Mutuals until my husband no longer had an income for our house hold and the APR interest with Washington Mutual was at 23%... I know that it was high but I also had a $7,000 credit limit, by the was I only had a $2,000 balance with WAMU. Anyway when Chase took over my credit card account... in one months time my interest from 23 to 25.99 for no reason and the increased the amount that was due for the month of April 2009. I called and inquired as to why the increase for the monthly payment and Chase indicated the same line over and over "Your ARP and your total amount due was processed and found that you owe this amount"... I asked the person to put this in simple English so the anyone and understand exactly why the increase.... Again, this person cited the same information again... So I asked, do you mean that because I now have a higher ARP percentage, this means that you can request more of a monthly payment. Guess what? There was not a simply answer of yes or no, but the same verbage as before. I decided not to pay that monthly payment for April... Guess what they sent me a bill indicated that I missed a payment and that it was OK.... Here's the hook. they now have raised my APR to 29.99 % and in the last two months May and June and July the request for monthly payments has risen by 20% each time for each payment.... Here's another Hook... they also lower my credit limit from $7,000 to now $2,800... What a crock. I guess with all the interest and the 20% rasie of each monthly payment .. I figure that by the end of 2009 I will be over the credit limit...
