Chase - Platinum Visa Card —
I have always paid my Chase card bill on time, but they raised my interest rate to 29.99%, because of late payments on another bank's card. They checked my credit report and BAM! nailed me. That was 3 years ago. I have called every few months to ask them to lower it and they tell me to write a letter. So far, I have succeeded in getting them to lower it to 29.24%. Woohoo! They say I have too much debt for them to lower it. At that interest rate, they make it pretty hard to pay off! I might add that I have a cd at their bank for the same amount of money I owe them, and they are paying me a big 1.75 % on that. I would cash it out and pay them off, but I'm afraid of needing the cash for an emergency. They stink.
