The BP Visa, offered by Chase Bank, is in my opinion, the best deal on the market.  The card offers cash back on all purchases:  5% on purchases from BP (including, but not limited to, gasoline); 2% on travel/dining charges; 1% on everything else.  Better yet - there's no annual fee.

In today's economy, the opportunity to save 5% on gasoline translates to 15 cents per gallon - $3 on a 20 gallon tank fillup!

Also, the rebate is available as a live check, written from Visa, made out to you, sent within a few days of your request each month.  The rebate funds are available the day the new statement is generated.  I pay all my bills through Visa to maximize my rewards.

Look for flyers at BP gas stations - often there are special deals doubling rewards for new customers for the first month of the new card's use.

(By the way, I don't work for Chase Bank, BP, or Visa - I just love this credit card!)

Also, Chase analyzes the account. If they think you are spending too much they will classify the account as a business account and close it. That is what happened to us. We have a very active lifestyle, live in a rural area and have 4 children heavily involved in sports. We pay the statement as soon as it comes in and never keep a running balance on it. The worst is that we lost all the rewards to the account. They said there was no one who could reverse this decision once an account is "closed". We had recommended this card to many of our friends and will now go back and forewarn all we recommended this card to. You better rethink this card. I suppose it would work well if you hardly use it.

I also have this card, but I use is less often. What you neglect to say is that there is no rebate for purchases at non-BP gas stations, and BP is higher priced than other stations in our market. For non-BP stations I use my Chase Perfect card. It offers a 5% rebate at any gas station, and the rebate is credited monthly. I do not have to wait until $25 in rebates have accumulated. I now have six Chase Visas--they are all a little different and they save me a lot of money in a year.
