Credit cards are considered by many to be a necessary evil. They can really wreck havoc on one's personal finances, but they can also be the only means available in emergencies and they come in handy when making purchases on the spur of the moment. I have used many, many different credit cards over the...

I've recently had a very bad experienced with chase card company. I try to make a payment on the phone on the due date and asked them if I will have a late fee. The guy from customer service told me if I go online there will be no late fee before midnight  I won't have a late fee....

Even though I still go to a mall every so often, more than likely it's to get a hair cut at my favorite barber shop, buy a new pair of prescription glasses or go to the movies at a multi-screen theater.  Very rarely is it to do what I used to go to the mall for: to browse at my favorite bookstore, look for the latest CD, video or (after 1999) DVD at a "music and video store," or the occasional jaunt to a Toys R Us or KB Toys store to look for new Star Wars action figures.

Since, oh, 2001, when I used a  complimentary Amazon gift certificate we received from BellSouth (now AT&T) for trying...

One of the most unscrupulous of the credit card issuers. Chase was once a very responsible member of the financial community but since it's buy out by JP Morgan, a wall street stock brokerage, they are ruthless to say the least.  Sudden and unexpected increases in interest rates and monthly payments are the rule with Chase.

If you are credit 'challenged', I would recommend Capitol One over any Chase card.

However, if you are credit worthy, my first choice is CitiBank everytime.

I got the Chase Amazon Card because I was buying an expensive gift for my mom on Amazon.com and they were offering 30% (or was it $30?) discount if you bought a card.  It was a long time go so I don't remember the exact details.  It was a good deal though so I signed up.  I've since had the card for years and now use it as my secondary / once in awhile card.  It was my primary for awhile but now my Chase Freedom is my primary because it has better rewards.

The Good Points:

  • Chase Amazon is a Visa card so it's taken everywhere.
  • It's also a Chase card so it links up with all my other...

an online shopper, online banker, don't carry a balance

I've had the Chase Amazon Card for a few years now and have really enjoyed using it. I have received several $25 certificates for spending so much on it. We use it each time we make any large purchase and my husband uses it for business. We haven't very often carried a balance and have never been late. I did have to talk to Customer Service one time a few months ago about a problem with a credit that did not show up, and they were very nice.

There is a place on Chase.com that you can set up reminders for yourself. I have mine set up to send me an email if my bill is not paid within five days...

This card is great because it has great rewards. Every $2500 you spend, you get a $25 amozon gift certificate with which you can buy anything you want. It does not have any annual fee. The only thing to keep in consideration is that it has high interest rate. If paid off in time, it will be of good use.

I have had only positive experiences with this card so far, first off they gave me a Credit card when NO ONE would, I started with a 900.00 limit, but they raise me 300.00 every 3 months!  Although the APR is high, I only charge what I can pay off every month so it really has not yet affected me.

I had the Amazon.com VISA from Chase for 5 years and paid every single payment on time. Then I submitted one payment online 45 minutes late. They charged me a $39 late fee plus finance charges on the balance. I called and asked if they could waive the fee based on my excellent standing, excellent credit, and the 8 other accounts (including a mortgage) that I have with Chase. They refused to budge an inch. Bottom line: Customer loyalty means nothing to them. I canceled the card immediately & will find one with better policies.

Ever since starting with Amazon Visa I've never been disappointed. We've had many an opportunity to get other credit cards with amazing offers, but because of the outstanding service we've received, I will never charge on another card, unless something really dramatic transpires. We use Amazon Visa only. My husband has his account and I have mine. I happen to like to use mine because of the Amazon points that I rack up when buying online. I do a tremendous amount of online buying due to being disabled. We do pay off our credit cards off every month, after letting them get out of control a number... read full review »

The Chase Amazon.com Rewards Visa is not the best credit card if you ask me. I honestly don't even know why I'm still using it. Chase online doesn't give me a clear history of my reward points, so I don't know if they're ripping me off or not, but I never seem to accumulate enough points to do anything!! Also, communication between the company and I is not very good! I recently changed my address and so they locked up my account! When I called to find out why I couldn't use my card, they said everything should be fine. Eventually I called again, and this time they told me the truth, that they had... read full review »

The Chase Amazon is a fantastic card with a great rewards line-up on all kind of purchases. As a software professional all my purchases earn me rewards with this card. Amazon purchases gives the maximum points, that is triple points. Whats more, I earn double points at gas stations, restaurants and drugstores. Also, they have bonus points (earn 10 points per $1) till Mar 2009, on monthly bills like phone, cable, gas, electric etc. Though I did not get the time to use this feature, it sounds super cool.

The feature I liked the most is redeeming the points, go to the chase website and order your $25...

This is an amazing visa card..I saw my points jump so fast each time I buy a product from Amazon. The points can be redeemed for flight tickets whether domestic or international. In a year I gave gathered enough points just by buying products from Amazon so that I can get a free ticket to Hawai. That's cool. You dont need to spend more...Just by buying a WD portable hard drive (77$) I gathered 3000 points. I bought so many things from Amazon.  There are many more merchants thro which you can redeem  your points. you can also get electronic gc for Amazon during redemption.

This is a great credit card for people who pay their balances off every month and shop on-line. I do not pay any fees for use of this card, I pay the same price for mechandise as I would with cash, and they send me gift certificates which I use for birthday gifts. And Amazon now has deals with other merchants so you can go through their website to purchase all kinds of things (unlike Barnes and Noble -- whose credit card I dropped because you can only buy books and movies with that site). A great card.
