I shop Amazon a lot, thought Amazon card is good to have. Recently, I had a terrible experience with those customer services people and their so called supervisers. All of them had a bad tone and attitude when I talk about my late fee. I had a previous statement balance (due 9/04/09) $230, I paid 2 days before my due date with $1397, which was my next statement due balance. I thought I don't have to worry the payment for the next due date. But on Oct. 4th, when I logon my account, I saw a charge $28 made on 9/05/09 was shown on the Oct. due statement, I paid it as I saw it on Oct. 4th. The following month Statement showed that I had $39 late fee and $24 finance fee because I paid the $28 late on Oct 4th cut off time. My current bill is due 11/01/09 with balance $2987 which most the payment was for the kid college payment. I don't have to borrow any money from the bank, I paid the $2987 on time. and talked to the chase customer services for the late fee, told them I didn't pay late, I paid a month ahead, even leave $28 on balance should not consider late. How did I get $39 late fee plus $24 finance fee with $28 balance. They said in rude tone that there is nothing can do with the fee charge on my account, The $24 finance fee is base on my average balance. My god! I never borrow anything, always pay off, I use chase cars as a payment method. I felt I was robbed by Chase. I asked customer superviser to review any chase card agreement with me, they said I can close my account. I told them that " Do you want have a good value customer with credit score 780, or customer who can default your money" It looks like they don't care. I have this call center superviser's name.
I will close my Amazon visa card as well as my other chase card. Please watch your bill closely and do calculation yourself. Don't let chase steal your money. SOmeday this business will be in trouble with law suit.
