We came from Cox Communications in Orange County, and just purchased a new home out in Corona, where the area is serviced by Charter Communications. Cox, while not bleeding edge, or cheap, was still a solid service and we had zero complaints in a combined 6 years of service.
I wish i could say the same for Charter. The problems started almost immediately.
Customer Service
The Good : Online customer care
The Bad : Incompetent Customer Care, overpriced, late technicians
Review : I signed up for service via their online chat, which was ingenious and convenient while I was working. ...
read full review »A few months ago I signed up for Charter's bundle package which included phone, internet & cable for $125/month. At the time of signup I was told whenever there is a promotion at a lower price I can switch over to that promotion. I recently dropped my phone service, keeping my internet and cable. When I dropped the phone service I did an online chat with an agent so I could bundle my 2 remaining services. They informed me I would have to call in & speak with a CSR. I called in and the guy I spoke with informed me I can get a promotion bundle. My internet would be $29.99 for 12 months...
read full review »I have been experencing problems with my Charter Internet Service alot within the last six months. Everytime I call into customer care now I get someone in India whom I can't understand. This last go around with them took me 2 weeks just to get them to schedule a Tech to come out and look at the problem. They kept telling me that they were scheduling appointments but would not tell me when a Tech was coming out. I finaly called into the repair service line and got an American. This is when I found out that there was NEVER a service call scheduled. Needless to say, they finally got someone out...
read full review »We have used Charter Communications for over 9 years, and now it is time to say goodbye due to the fact that they have provided the worst service and repair I have ever experienced. We have been able to get a dial tone on the phone for a month but unable to complete a call until the 6-7th attempt. Everytime I call after the supposed "scheduled repair," I find that once again the appointment has been "rescheduled." Had this been an emergency and we needed to get in touch which 911 we would have been faced with some potentionally serious issues. This company gives all lip service and no...
read full review »I have not had any problems with Charter Internet service (knock on wood!) but the phone service on the other hand has not been so good. Sometimes I have to dial 5-6 times to get through to someone because the call won't connect. Other times my phone just goes right to my voice mail without ringing in the house so I don't even know someone is calling. The price can't be beat but you truly do get what you pay for. The overseas call center also makes things extremely difficult. When I first set up my service it took 2 hours on the phone and the order STILL wasn't right. Very frustrating!...
read full review »Since Charter Communications has the monopoly on the cable in the area's I grew up in, buying the smaller company who was there, we were forced to go with them. I had moved into an apartment, so I was unable to get a dish, and cable was our only option. Even over the air programming was not an option, I was too far from the towers, and half underground, for a picture you could rely on.
While we had few problems with the internet, it seem to be pretty reliable most of the time, the TV and phone is a different story. Not to mention the TERRIBLE customer service. The TV worked most of the...

I just warn all the people who are going to consider Charter.
Here is what happened.
At the time of clossing my account, Charter was $30 due to me. And I was due to return the $18 worth of piece of shit (equipment). Returnin the equipment was genuinly delayed just around 2 months. 5 days after retruning that piece of shit they send my account for "Credi Protection Assocaition". This is ridiculous because after all said and done they are due at least $10 to me.
