Charter - Cable TV —

It never ceases to amaze me how much these cable companies charge for TV service.  Only twice in my life have I ordered cable.  Both times I switched back to FREE over-the-air TV.  This last time took a new innovation - DTV.

When I first moved into this apartment about 3 years ago, the landlord would not allow an outdoor antenna on the roof.  And an inside antenna got next to nothing.  I was stuck either going with Charter Cable or a dish of some kind.

They "claim" no disruption in TV service during storms.  That's a joke.  Sometimes it would go out for just a few minutes...sometimes for a day.  Sometimes there was NO STORM!  It would just go out.

Then I heard about the coming of DTV and the government coupon program for converter boxes.  I got on the Internet & ordered my two coupons.  I went to my local Radio Shack & purchased one to start.  I can't explain the electronics of it, but -- the same indoor antenna that got next to nothing over an analog signal now picks up a great DTV signal.  I went back to Radio Shack the next day & got a second converter box.  Then I canceled the cable.  I now get a better picture - better sound - but fewer channels.  And I don't really miss them.

Dear Charter Cable TV - FREE TV is back again...thank GOD!

It's just the "Scrooge" in me. I can't see paying for something that can be FREE from another source.

I work in the television industry, mostly with broadcasters. Your review will slap a smile on a lot of their faces, as they will be delighted to know that you're back to watching off-the-air TV. Thanks!
