Many Problems with Customer Service

Charter is the only service available in our area and locally, they tend to treat you that way.   Once when we called for service, they didn't show up for 2 appointments and I ended up carrying the box to the office and getting it replaced myself.  We disconnected and reconnected ourselves.   When this occurred, we were billed and we have auto-debit so they took it out with the next bill.   We fought it out with them for 4 months, they said they would credit the next bill each month and it never happened.   We finally gave up because each time I spent 30 to 40 minutes on the phone, my cell phone, to no avail.

 We get a better service if we are using the phone and just need our box restarted or have a question about the internet.  The phone and online people are friendly and helpful, but the local services stink and they don't care since they are the only cable service in town.   What a shame!!!

I agree with you totally...that's why I bought the ancient "rabbit-ears" and get Channels 8 and 10. I go out and buy DVDs all the time...at least that way I get a better selection and variety. Charter has done me wrong way too many times and I refuse to get service through them anymore, even though they are the only cable company in town. I'd rather "live in the old ages" than give them anymore of my hard earned money.
