I am a big fan of the Sookie Stackhouse books they are different than anything you have ever read. They combine Sci-fi elements with the everyday life of a barmaid. They do have some romantic elements but the romance is never the entire point of the book. I love these books and all the supernatural characters that they introduced me to.
