I love this grill, it's super easy to clean and even easier to use. We don't have many cookouts but when we do we enjoy using our Char-Griller! It has plenty of space on the grill, so you can cook your burger patties, chicken and corn all at the same time.

I purchased this for my husband who was just started to get into smoking. This has been the best grill/smoker. It is a heavy thing! Once assembled and on wheels it's fine but the box was heavy! Talk about cast iron, wow! The assembly was pretty easy. I would say it took less than an hour from start to finish with a break in between. There is a lot of grill space. We can fit 3 racks of ribs or a lot of steaks! Getting used to cooking with charcoal took some time but we figured it out pretty quick. This grill is build very well, it's solid. The venting is good. We have found the thermometer on the cover is not accurate at all. We use a meat thermometer and we found the one on the cover was 50+ degrees off. Not a big deal if your just grilling but when your smoking meat it makes a big difference. I would say this grill was worth the money for sure. Great design, easy to use, easy to clean. Not super easy to transport because it's heavy. I would recommend to others in a heartbeat.

THE CHAR-GRILLER 1224 IS A DECENT CHARCOAL OPTION FOR THE CASUAL GRILLER THAT WANTS SOMETHING MORE THAN THE BASIC WEBER. THERE ARE MORE EXPENSIVE OPTIONS OUT THERE BUT CHARGRILLER OFFERS AN AFFORDABLE OPTION THAT STILL MEETS THE NEED. THE STABILITY IS NOT QUITE WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR. BUT THAT COULD BE USER ERROR IN MY ASSEMBLY SKILLS. IT JUST DOES NOT SEEM AS STURDY AS SOME OTHER MODELS OUT THERE. BUT THUS FAR IN THE YEAR I HAVE HAD IT, THIS HAS NOT BEEN AN ISSUE. I WOULD SAY IT IS AS EASY TO CLEAN AND USE AS ANY OTHER GRILL. I WOULD RECOMMEND A COVER FOR SURE. I DO LIKE THE WHEELS ALLOWING FOR EASY MOVEMENT AROUND THE PATIO. BUT I WOULD NOT REALLY RECOMMEND A LOT OF PORTABLE MOVEMENT. ALL AND ALL THIS GRILL MEETS THE NEED. NO FANCY OPTIONS, BUT NO SUPER HIGH PRICE TAG EITHER.

We had this Char-griller smokin pro grill for about three years before the heat started to rust the grate and the inside bottom part. The screws and hinge that held the grate ended up rusting out and falling apart. We live in the South so barbecue is a staple around our house. We used this grill at least once every weekend. So for the most part it is a pretty durable grill. If you are just starting out and don't want to spend a whole lot on a smoker this is a pretty good one. We were able to smoke brisket, ribs and beer can chicken on this grill. The built in thermometer is a good feature and saves you the expense of buying one. Once you perfect your smoking skills, and this one rusts out, you may want to upgrade to one that is rust proof. However, you will spend way more money. We recommend this grill to anyone wanting a starter grill or one that is relatively inexpensive. We also recommend getting a cover for it if you intend on keeping it outside or don't have a covered patio.

I re century had enough room to grill a whole yellow fin tuna, head and all!!! Yummy! Ease of Use Up down, how can you go wrong, and the temp gauge is there for one to refer to! This grill works great when you want to smoke some meat. Performance The heat was steady as I cook my meat. It lasted the whole two hours needed to smoke the meat. Versatility You can smoke or grill on this grill perfect when you just want to make a quick meal. Ease of Use Easy to use just fill with charcoal and enjoy Ease of Cleaning If you use oven cleaner on it , it makes for an easy cleaning job, but like all grill it is messy. Durability Stands up nice to the weather, I make sure to cover it with a cloth for extra protection. Design I like the design and how easy it is to move it from one position to the next.

We love this grill. We've been using it for over 10 years. If you like charcoal grills this is a really great grill. When we do have to replace it, we will be getting another one from Char-Grill. They are an excellent company. They have great customer service. When needing any replacement part, they are very fast to fill your order whether it be by phone or online. Performance Excellent performance. As long as you can pour charcoal, lighter fluid and light a match. I can't hold the grill responsible for any burnt food. That's my fault. Versatility I have grilled or smoked so many different things on this grill. From hotdogs, hamburgers, vegetables, even several prime ribs for Christmas dinner. A very versatile. I add hickory wood when grilling steaks or prime rib. Ease of Use Very easy to use. As long as you can pour charcoal, lighter fluid and light a match. Ease of Cleaning This grill is as easy as any other grill. I just don't enjoy the job too much. Durability We have been using this grill for over 10 years (I think about 12). We have had to replace the charcoal tray twice. But when you use a grill at least 4 days every week, you have to expect it. It's been the most durable charcoal grill we have ever had. Design If you like barrels the design is great. The grilling area has plenty of room for a large group or if you just need to grill for 2 or 3 you can place the charcoal at one end of the grill.

So I love grilling every Sunday, and unlike most people, charcoal is the only type of grills are like. Me, being a Mexican, love the convince of having enough space to cook enough meat for the entire family. This grills has it all, it has a lot of space to cook the meat, a small upper area to leave things to cook with the heat, the thermostat, and even the wheels. This Grill has it all! This grill has been hands down my favorite out of all the ones I have I tried and used. Heck, it is even extremely easy to clean! I recommend this grill to both beginner and expert cooks. It is great for everyone! Performance Great delicious meat is cooked with the least amount of charcoal you could even imagine. I just use a bit during weekends to make a few burgers and it lasts a long time. Versatility The wheels make it extremely easy to move around my home when it starts raining or its just needed. I really like this grill. It is the 4th grill I have ever bought. It is also the largest and a better quality. I splurged a bit hoping it will be the last one for a long time. I am a fan of charcoal grills plus it had a smoker option, so this was a great choice for me. Easy to put together. I am no grill pro at all. So I can't give details on how it smokes. I have grilled a whole pork roast on it. For about 4 hours that came our very nice. The size also allows me to cook many things at once without them touching. Plus I can adjust the coals to be closer or further from the meat. Everything I grill does seem to have a smokey flavor to it. That is fine with me though. One flaw is the top grill racks distorted very fast. Versatility I like the upper and lower grill options. The smoker option and the thermometer to check the interior heat. Ease of Cleaning So far nothing has stuck to the racks so they just seem to wipe off easy. Just have to clean the coals from the bottom rack. The rack is removable and can be dumped. Durability The upper wire distorted fast.
