My husband received the Char-Broil Smoker for his birthday. He really enjoys using it. His complaints so far are that it is hard to get it hot enough and then maintain the heat. Most smoking recipes call to smoke your meat at a temperature of 250 degrees, however, just using charcoal, he is lucky to keep the heat at 200. With the addition of wood chunks, he is able to get the temp hot enough to maintain the 250 degrees. The price was amazing for this smoker. We bought a floor model so it was already assemble. It is easy enough to clean and is small enough that it doesn't take up our whole patio. It is fairly small inside and so we had to remove the grate to fit our turkey inside in a pan. It is a "good enough" smoker.

Baked beans, chicken, burgers, kebobs, you name it - this is the grill and smoker you want to cook them on. Really good for the price, and lots of room to flip and rotate foods on. The design allows for good insulation, so things heat up and stay hot, perfect for maintaining a long, hot smoking environment. The design of the grill allows it to be transported easily, making it a good pick for tailgating. The smoke is controlled by the hinged flue trap at the top of the stack on the back of the smoker, making it easy to select that just-right amount to let out or keep in. And it is certainly durable. No wobbly hinges. The legs are also sturdy with another shelf at the bottom for extra support and storage. This grill takes up little space when not in use. It cleans up fast, too. The price is so reasonable; you could buy a second one for a vacation home. BBQ is best while on vacation. Versatility Sturdy enough for moving around and the wheels make it easy to transport. Lots of space for different foods.

This is one of the best but not the best, I am urging anyone who gets this there is only one problem with the grill other then the screws that keep coming lose this is a good buy. I have a relaxtive who invited me to an enevet and once I got started I just had to have the love of grilling and I enjoyed it... But the dog gown thing is very lose to I have to prop it up and this make me very sad that there is nothing to keep this grill together tight but the grill does the job.

I have a larger model of char-broil grill and am very happy with it. Mine has two grills, crank handle to lower or elevate coals on each side, a rack above grill for holding or roasting and enclosed storage below with shelves and hooks. Also has temperature guage on both sides. I am very happy with my cooking experiences and highly recommend char-broil. The only issue I have is that even covered with a superior quality BBQ cover I am having trouble with rust :-(

My family loves this smoker. We use it very often and the food taste awesome and comes out perfect everytime. My boyfriend likes that he can chop up wood and put it in the box to give the food a smokey flavor. We have cooked ribs, porkchops, hamburgers, sausage, chicken, vegtables, pork loins, briskets on our smoker. It is easy to clean and I love that it has a rack so that you can put food or vegtables on top to slow cook. The only cons is that it does rust fast unless you can find a cover that fits it, and the covers that I have seen online are not very cheap.

Since purchasing Char-Broil silver smoker back in the summer of 2007 I have found it to be a good product. I spent quite a while reading up on similar bbq grills before making this purchase. I also compared advice from others who have made similar purchases. I mainly needed this item for summer grilling and I figured I would use it weekly. Now that I have it, I mostly use it for cooking steaks and smoking briskets and cheeses.. It is packed with many features, such as offset smoker. I really like how the Char-Broil silver smoker is the amount of grilling space (738 sq in!). However, one big thing that kind of annoys me about this product is it does seem a little flimsy compared to other more higher priced options. , my decision to buy this bbq grill was good. I rate this grill as mediocre, but it does well for what it is.

I like this smoker so much, I buy this same grill every 2 years. It rusts.. and I buy another one, just like it. Of course, I don't cover mine, so that may have something to do with it. I found that after mastering the art of heat control by manipulating the air intake and exhaust I could make excellent smoked turkey breast, pork ribs, beef ribs, chickens,standing rib roast (my wife's favorite), meatloaf, etc... The metal is cheap. It does not hold heat well. It rusts if you leave it out. Of course, if you were looking for an expensive smoker, you wouldn't be considering this one. The off-set design works great. After a little practice it is easy to keep the heat in the right range for "low and slow". Beware, changes in the outside air temperature, wind direction and amount of sunlight can change the temperature in the meat-box significantly on this smoker. Of course, if you were looking for the "easy way" you would buy one of those new-fangled electric smokers with the silly pellets. If you are new to smoking, give this one a try. Use hardwood charcoal and big oak or fruitwood chunks. Avoid hickory and mesquite (too strong).

First it is a smokin good deal even it it does have a few flaws. In the world of smoking food there are some real fights over the best smoker. This smoker is not a good choice if you goin to do alot of smoking or grilling. I am looking at this product mostly as the smoker not so much as a grill. The thin metal choice the manufacturer made makes for a quick heat up but also makes for high heat loss and retention quality. The offset smoke chanmber is a must for good smoke food. Low and slow indirect heat is the cooking standard for smiking foods. The **Char-Broil Silver Smoker accomplishes **this but not as effiecently as other smokers. The cost is slightly higher than a few other choices but in long term use this seems to last longer. I have a different brand I bought at lowes and the bottom of the smoker had paint peal and rotted out. As of today my **Char-Broil Silver Smoker** does not have any rott but i did have to touch up paint a few places as a result of grillin on high heat. this should be a smoker not a good grill choice.

What a neat grill/smoker combination!  I found several positive aspects of this grill. First, it was easy to assemble and it also came in a small and larger version.  I chose the larger grill because we usually grill a large amount at one time.  Next it has a really easy and accurate thermostat.  Of course, you do need to be experienced with grilling on charcoal/wood in order to understand how to regulate the temperture. It also has a tiered grilling rack which makes it convenient to keep items warm in the top of it.  We really also like the offset smoker, it works wonderful!  I read several reviews before making the purchase, and have been really please with the quality of the grill itself, the price and the durability.  I have not purchased a cover, and it is really staying in great shape despite the summer heat and the snow this winter.  Overally I think it has made the perfect Father's Day gift.  The only negative aspect is the fact that I had to get a little help loading it into the car.

For those of you grillers out there who want diversity, a classic look, and the production of great tasting meat...this grill has it all!  This Char-Broil can provide you with all of the typical burgers, hotdogs, brats, and chicken that you could ever want, as well as, provide you with the ability to cook a well-timed, tasty brisket or slow cooked ribs with meat falling off of the bones.  The grill is easy to use, easy to heat, easy to clean and heavy duty.  I would recommend getting a cover though as you don't want it to be affected by the weather and being to rust and fall apart.  If you take care of it, I am sure it will take care of you and yours!  The sheer size of this grill is very nice for big get togethers when you have to cook meat for many people at once. But, don't worry, this grill will have you covered.  With seemingly no effort at all you will be able to grill up meat for a multitude of guests.  Have at it!
