Wow! Mexico City's Chapultepec Zoo is INCREDIBLE!!!

Chapultepec Zoo —

I'm blown away by the incredibly GOOD quality of the Mexico City's Chapultepec Zoo. The place simply does EVERYTHING right. It's a modern zoo with spacious, open, natural feeling habitats for all the animals, it's extremely kid friendly with hands-on exploration centers in various parts of the zoo. It has a state of the art new serpentarium, plus a huge collection featuring everything from antelopes to zebras. Pandas too!

In fact, this is the world's first zoo to successfully breed pandas in captivitiy! Of course the panda habitat is one of the most popular points in the zoo, but so too is the polar bear habitat, the butterfly farm, the penguins, and a host of other completely first-rate areas.

I love that the zoo is so clean, so family friendly, and free of charge to enter. It always bothers me that some zoos over-commercialize the zoo-going experience, charging WAY too much money for a working family to bring their kids to the zoo. Of course that's a non-issue in a truly GREAT zoo that's open to everyone to enjoy.

If you're visiting Mexico City with kids, the Chapultepec Zoo is a definite "must see" site! (Though just between you and me....it's fun for adults too!)
