I have eaten oatmeal almost all my life. I was never concerned and never really cared about the nutritional benefits or the amount of fiber in it until about 11 years ago when I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis. My doctor told me I needed to try and eat 35 grams of fiber a day, which is pretty hard to do. I've finally found an easy way to get most of my fiber intake by eating "Quaker High Fiber Instant Oatmeal" (Maple and Brown Sugar).
