Sometimes you just can't get enough room to grind on things, at those times an angle grinder can be your best friend. When trying to get a rusted exhaust bolt of my sons van I just couldn't quite get to it with anything. Those sideways engines just don't like big guys at all, so I went and got me a small angle grinder.

Central Pneumatics 1/4" Angle Grinder

This little die grinder weighs in at a staggering 12oz. (lol Redneck Humor at work) It uses 4cfm @ 90 psi and spins at 20,000rpm it is only 5" long and can take 2 sizes of die's 1/4" and 1/8"and has a front air exhaust. Grinder is a misnomer though as not only can you grind with it but also polish or if you have the right type drill bits you can drill with it!

I used this to get the heavy rust off my receiver hitch before I painted it. It was the perfect tool for getting into the little nooks where everything comes together. Spinning at 20,000 rpm it made easy work of it as well. For a little tool this thing sure can pack a big punch, it is perfect for grinding out pop rivets as well. Being at an angle it helps to keep your writs straight when using it as well.

Bottom Line

I paid $5.95 for this little angle grinder, yeah I know thats a lot of money but it sure was worth every penny. This little work horse can be gotten at Harbor Freight as Item # 52848 and it includes 2 wrenches to change die's with.

It amazes me sometimes how many "special purpose" tools there are out there to make a handyman's life easier.
