don't honor Prices & what they say

We have been trying to salvage our Celebrity cruise as my husband had a medical emergency.  Rathe then being helpful, they have been very difficult.  They have continually lied to us, not honored pricing they quoted even after the reservation was changed, and charged excessive fees when they told us that if we transferred to another cruise we would not be charged fees.  Our TA and ourselves have been trying for 2 weeks now to straighten this mess out, but it just keeps getting worse.  Everytime we get a different story.  We aren't getting any service, even though we are a frequent cruiser with RCI and Celebrity.  Just warning others that Celebrity really doesn't care if you travel with them or not.  That is sure how they are treating us.  Anyone else have problems with cruise lines not honoring their word (written or oral?)

I had a similar experience with Celebrity. When we booked, I was told we would receive a $300 rebate. This wasn't reflected on the invoice. In six subsequent calls, which Celebrity promised to return but did not, the situation was not resolved. Finally, in frustration, I insisted they cancel the cruise reservation and refund my money without penalty. Probably as a bluff, the agent said yes to that, and that's what I did. I then rebooked through an external agency at a much lower price. I should've just quit while I was ahead. The food, service, and maintenance on the ship made it a disappointing experience. I will never sail on Celebrity again.

In response to LV2CRZ's comment from Feb 20, 2008 at 2:51PM:

We all know that she didn't dump them. She was banned from both Celebrity and RCCL for trying to con them and get something for nothing. I don't believe a word of what she writes in her cruise reviews because we hear differing versions of the same story. It is a shame that some people may take notice of what she says and use it to form an opinion. She's on NCL next and they know she is coming.

Maybe the President hung up on you because of the lies you spread on Cruise Critic.(saying he offered you money and a discount).......well, I got an email from him saying it was not true and he had never spoken to you...
If you don't lie, perhaps others will take an interest in you and believe what you say..

and werent you told not to slander RCCL like you do?? Your words.......

Amazing that I get a phonecall from RCCL that they do not appreciate me giving them poor ratings. I am to remove all my bad reviews from the Net. What am I to do lie to people? I closed my RCCL Visa, I closed my Celebrity VISA, and now we are banned from cruising them? This is how they take care of their mistakes. Then we get emailed survey on our cruise, and we let them have it. NEVER AGAIN, I will be on Ebay with all the gifts that say RCCL on them. If you want anything, email me."

I dumped them very fast when CSA Insurance, who processed a claim to get our money back, never heard from their Medical or Security with an Accident Report. So my claim was denied after 14 months. Even their President hung up on me when I phoned.

Royal Caribbean, their owner isn't much better. We had one great cruise & the rest were unbelievable. We get 20% refund which is like Carnival!

So both are AXED! Norovirus, rude staff, filthy buffet (which is the only place to eat lunch on port days). And that was every ship........
