Since 1981, Cedar's Mediterranean Foods has been making some of the best hommus, or hummus if you prefer, I've ever had. My family goes through an alarming amount of this stuff every week, in no small part because my two-year old daughter loves to dip her "trees" (that's broccoli, for those of who who don't speak toddler) and baby carrots into it. She can polish off an entire 16-ounce tub in one sitting.

A rich, creamy blend of fresh steamed chickpeas, sesame tahini, olive oil, and spices, Cedar's All-Natural Hommus is combined with other fresh indgredients to create a variety of taste-tempting blends: Garlic Lover's, Roasted Red Pepper, Baba Ghanoush, Lemon, Artichoke Spinach, Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil, Garden Vegetable, Horseradish, Pesto, and more.

The Organic Hommus is available in Original, Red Pepper, Garden Vegetable, Tomato Basil, and Roasted Garlic.

Cedar's Hommus is trans-fat-free, cholesterol-free, wheat and gluten-free, low in net carbs, making it the perfect food for any diet. It's great as a snack with veggies or pita chips, or as a sandwich spread (it's a lot healthier than mayonnaise).

Cedar's Hommus is available at Whole Foods and other fine purveyors of natural and organic foods.

I love this product but I am not going to buy it anymore because the packageing is a #7 plastic. Until they start using a #1 or #2 recyclable plastic, I will keep writing and boycotting.

We go nuts for the garlic flavored!
