Nice little phone

5

I purchased this phone for my 13 year old. I wanted her to have a phone to get a hold of me and for me to stay in touch with her. I did not want a smart phone or anything she would have internet access with . So many teenagers are addicted to there phones constantly sending texts and on Facebook. She has computer time after school to do those activities. I am going to dodge that bullet as long as i can. This little phone is durable, has good reception and a nice size for pocket or purse. Reasonabily priced it is a good phone with no frills. Performance Does everything I want it to do. Voice Quality I have had no problems with the voice quality. She always comes in loud and clear. Battery Life I am not sure about the battery life. I assume it last for days since she is not on it very much.. yet.. Durability One thing i like about flip phones is that they are usually very durable. I had one for years. They with stand being dropped over and over. Ease of Use NO frills so very easy to use. Nothing to problem or anything. Design I love the flip phone design. Makes it smaller and more durable.

VERY DURABLE, some design flaws, not a lot of features.

I purchased this phone because I have two very small children and they seem to always have my phone. I needed something that would last through it all. And this phone has been great for that! However, the hookup to charge the phone has a design flaw and stops working after a time. Also if you are looking for features, this is not the phone. It is also very heavy.

Very durable for those of us with clumsy hands!

Does everything (w/o a keyboard) that any other phone does, plus provides a strong body for the bumping and droppng of phones that always occur. That durability does come at the cost of weight. It is deeper and heavier that any other phone.

it is my second phone and find that it is all that I need

Basically a work for out in the field. I am a geologist and need a durable phone which is able to receive/place calls in remote places. Only thing I do not like is the carrying case-plastic window gets dirty and makes it hard to see display. Will admit I use it for phone calls and not all the other features such as texting etc.

virgin mobile prepaid cell phone the worst.

I am writing about the virgin mobile prepaid cell phone. I will never buy a prepaid phone again.  If you only talk for 30 seconds it deducts a minute of your airtime.  I think that is crazy. It should only charge you for the minutes you use. To me virgin mobile is the worst cell phone every. Tracey Ann

Undestructable, near perfect phone!

Wow! I didn't think is was possible for a cell phone to possess the qualities it requires to be MY PHONE! I have had my Gzone Boulder for almost a year and I have to say, it is NEAR PERFECT. The only thing this phone lacks is the ability to pick my winning lotto ticket numbers for me. I have put this phone to the test. the first Gzone edition, the original and now this one have both been put to the test. The Julie Test. I didn't believe the reviews I had seen one morning on The Today Show. A waterproof phone? No way! A Dust Proof Phone? C'mon!? But the unbreakable caught my attention. I am a 90 lb. femail truck driver. I have a little bit of an attitude. When I am mad, I tend to throw my phone as it's usually in my hand. Well, I tested both the original Gzone and now the Boulder. Hm. It took 8 months of beating and battering my first phone, it finally took its final beating in a audio store. I was showing off my unbreakable phone,... oops. It broke. How embarassing. Moving right alone, I replaced it. The Boulder. It has been driven over with my semi. I have tried to drown it numerous times. The dust build up that it undergoes on the job sites is rediculous. But the ultimate test for my phone is when I placed it under a wrecked railcar that I hauled off of a rail accident site. It sat between the trailer bed and the had the nose of the railcar resting snug on top of it, dead center of the trailer. We traveled 200 miles. I am still using my Boulder. It is 10 months old. The railcar test was done 2 months ago. Verizon, job well done!

A tough and cool looking phone that's easy to use

The Casio GzOne Boulder from Verizion is a uniquely-styled phone that stands out from the rest.  It's a flip style cell with rocky-looking edges, available in a black-and-silver, or, if you really want to make a statement, safety cone orange color.  In contrast to it's rugged overall shape, the face of the phone has a circular display for the time, date, and tells you when there's an incoming call or text.  The display format itself comes with a large variety of custom options, as does the phone's interior menu navigation, to give it a truly personal style. Aside from some very nice aesthetics, the phone operates as well as one would hope.  The menus are easy to get through, the controls are all buttons-no glitchy touch-screens here.  It offers all the essentials and then some without being too hard to manage. Casio claims the phone is inspired by military technology to protect it from shock and water.  Mine has resisted both with flying colors.  I drop it hard getting out of my car in the rain - not only does the phone keep on working perfectly, there's not a scratch on it. I have two complaints which I consider moderate issues with the device.  The phone seems quiet.  The ringers, even at max volume, just don't sound as loud or clear as they should.  This is due to the water-resistant feature, as there is a film across the inside of the speaker casing, muffling the sound.  The other issue is the short battery life compared to similar phones.  However, charging time is very speedy. Overall, the phone is a decent buy.  Though not for everybody, it is easy to use, rugged, and just looks cool.

A Strong Phone for a Tough Job

5

I work construction and the job has seen the downfall of many of my phones. I've had cracked screens from dust getting under them and shorted circuits when they got wet. Never again, I've been using this phone for almost two years and it barely has a scratch on it! The G'zOne series of phones are built to last plain and simple. They don't have all the features of a smart phone but they aren't meant for those uses anyway. Instead what you get is an efficient phone that you can take to the job site with you. Yes it's waterproof, but I think the more impressive thing is that this phone is built like a rock. You can't break it. I've had bags of concrete dropped on it and even it fall from great heights and it still works great. Get this phone if you've ever broken a cell phone before. The battery life is good, not great but it'll last you a couple of days. I haven't needed to get a replacement battery for my phone yet either. Some things could be better. The camera for one is pretty lackluster in a day where most phones can spit out digital camera quality photos. Other than that, I think this is a great phone for calls and texting on. I'd buy another one if I could somehow break this one.

Ok, my husband was all for getting this phone because it was supposed to be the most rugged and durable phone out there on the market. Well we had his first phone for about six months and then the seal that seals the screen to the phone went bad and let moisture in the phone. We took it back to verizon and even though we were out of the warranty period they let us swap the phone out since it is supposed to be indestructable. Well here we are a couple months later and the new phone had done the exact same thing yet they will not replace it this time. Obviously it is an issue with the phone itself since it has happened twice. The phone itself is great outside of the problem with the seal. It is a little bulky and designed mainly for men in my opinion. It has a built in camera however the picture quality leaves alot to be desired. We havent had any problem with dropped calls or anything, just the seal.

I am hard on phones.  Over the years I have drowned them, dropped them, kicked them, has a horse knock them around & rescued them from the puppies.  If they suvive that I wear them out until they fall apart.  If a phone survives me it has to be tough. This is my third G'zone.  I had the original & it lasted along time until it I managed to drown it.  My Mom is still using hers on the original battery.  I had the Boulder that I just replaced because the charging port fell out of it.  And now my husband & I both have the Rock. I like it's lighter feel & width compared to the Boulder.  It has survived alot already between the two of us and has held up well. However, it will not survive a lawn mower blade.  My husband dropped his while mowing & tested that durablity accidently.  I think this phone will go the distance. I would and have recomended this phone to many people.
