Cascade Complete vs. Electrasol Advanced Dishwashing Detergent —

I am a regular user of Electrasol Dishwashing Detergent and although I have tried others, I have always come back to Electrasol. I was asked to compare Cascade Complete Liquid Dishwashing Detergent to Electrasol Advanced Detergent. In my mind, the winner was already decided but I was going to be fair and do what was asked of me. The results were shocking to me!

About Cascade Complete...

Cascade says, "With Cascade Complete there's no need to prewash most dishes. Its formula dissolves tough food particles so they don't get stuck on other dishes or trapped in your machine." It contains a "shine shield" to help protect glasses from etching. It is available in Fresh Scent, Citrus Breeze Scent, and Melon Blossom. In assorted 45, 75, 110, and 125oz. powder or gel varieties.

About Electrasol Advanced Detergent...

The makers of Electrasol say that this detergent "Gives you deep cleaning power plus Shine Boost to gently remove tough food stains. They also claim, "This powerful gel works quickly and completely to get your dishes sparkling clean." It is available at your local store in 75oz bottles; in Orange, Lemon, and Fresh scents.

The Results of My Comparison...

Cascade

Even though I regularly use Electrasol, I have only used the tablets or gel pacs. I was certain though that I would have just as good results with the gel. I figured that I would use the Cascade Complete first since I have never used that brand. I made a point of not prewashing most of my dishes and pans as Cascade said there was no need to. I also decided to wash a few of my crystal wine glasses to see how the spotting was. I completely filled both the main and prewash cups with detergent as instructed and started the dishwasher. I honestly wasn't expecting my dishes or pans to get very clean without prewashing. When the wash and dry cycles were complete, I was anxious to see the results. I was absolutely thrilled with the job that Cascade did. My dishes were very clean and shiny. The pots and pans were completely clean and the wine glasses had very minimal spotting. I have to say that I was really shocked. I never expected such great results. I was and continue to be very impressed.

Electrasol

I wanted to make this comparison as fair as possible so I decided to wash a load of dishes, pans and wine glasses similar to the ones I did with Cascade. I filled both the main and prewash cups and placed my dishwasher on the same setting as before. Once the washing and drying cycles were finished, I started to take the dishes out and I could instantly see the difference. The glasses were much spottier and I even noticed some etching in my wine glasses. I was not at all happy with that. It was necessary for me to rewash some of the dishes because some food still remained. They didn't look as shiny as the dishes washed with Cascade and the plastic cups and bowls were full of spots. I couldn't believe what an inferior job Electrasol did versus Cascade. I guess we learn something new everyday!

My Final Viewpoint...

Cascade Complete is without a doubt the superior dishwashing detergent. Electrasol Advanced did not meet my expectations and regardless of my success in the past with the tablets and the gel pacs, Cascade Complete is now the brand we use on a regular basis. I highly recommend Cascade Complete and truly believe that it deserves a 5 star rating!

Looks like we all came to the same conclusion about the two detergents!

I can't believe the difference in the Electrasol Gel and the tablets and gel pacs. Weird how the Gel just didn't cut it.

I never thought they would be so different until I tried them both. I was simply amazed. No lie. The Electrasol Tabs and Gel Pacs work better than the Electrasol Advanced Gel for some reason though. Weird.

Who would have thought that the two liquid gels could be so completely different in results?

Great comparison!

I usually do use Cascade Complete to great results, but I switched to Electrosol lately because I like what I see; however, just like you, they are the Electrosol tablets. The gel didn't get the job done.
