Cascade Complete vs. Electrasol Advanced Dishwashing Detergent —

I'm all for trying  new products and comparing them against my preferred products. I've been using Electrasol for years. I decided to pick up some Cascade complete because it was on sale and that it would give me an opportunity to test out something new.

I loaded up the dishes in our dishwasher as usual. Filled the compartments and started the machine on the same settings as always. When the cycle was finished I opened up the machine to find a terrible film on the dishes close to the liquid soap dispenser. After looking over the rest of the dishes in the top rack and further from the dispenser those were all clean without spots.  Thinking this was a freek happening. I decided to run the washer again using the same soap and repositioning the dishes a bit. When the cycle finished I opened the washer to find the same soap film. I called Cascade and was offered a refund of the product.

I went to the store and picked up Electrasol and rewashed the dishes. This time when I rewashed the dishes and used the same settings. When the cycle was finished I opened the door to find clean dishes. No spots, great smell. Electrasol finished the job and for a family of six that goes through two loads a day we need them cleaned the first time.

I think Seventh Generation and/or Mrs. Meyer's has them if I remember correctly. I don't use it; I"M usually the dishwasher around here. You can get good deals right now at Walbaums, if you have one near you. Otherwise a natural food store and maybe Trader Joes. You can get coupons for Seventh Gen. at their website. Another good way to help our home the earth!

HOnestly no I haven't but I'd like to. When my bottle is empty I'll pick up one and try it out. Thanks for the nudge. :)
