To reduce our water and electricity consumption, we always run our dishwasher on "econo mode" (just a wash and a rinse, no pre-wash or drying cycles). Unfortunately, not all dishwasher detergents can handle this cycle. With a number of the ones we tried, we ended up having to pre-wash a number of dishes in the sink (which kind of defeated the point of using econo mode!). I am the type of person that likes to do the dishes by hand but after having a large number of guests for dinner, there are way too many dishes for me to do, so I am forced to use my dishwasher. I don't believe dishwashers clean the dishes very well, and I tried so many different dishwasher soaps but none satisfied me. I purchased a pack of Cascade Action Pacs with Dawn 4x Concentrated to try out in my dishwasher and I must say I was very impressed. My dishes were never cleaned so well when washed in the dishwasher. Cascade Action Pacs with Dawn 4x Concentrated left all my dishes, even the big pots and pans I used to cook in, spotless clean. The glass plates and cups were never so shiny when washed in the dishwasher. Cascade Action Pacs with Dawn 4x Concentrated did a wonderful job in washing the entire load that was in the dishwasher. However, some of the silver wear was not as clean as they should be, but I would say that is probably normal in any dishwasher using any other brand of soap. I love this brand and will only use it in my dishwasher.

Over a year ago I bought a case of "green" dishwasher detergent tablets. I was pretty happy with them but the place I bought them has closed up shop so for the first time in a long time I was looking for dishwasher detergent in the grocery store. I tried Cascade Shine Shield Formula with the grease fighting power of DAwn. There are 32 "action pacs" in a citrus scent. They are safe for septic tanks, phosphate free and have earned the Good Housekeeping seal. **What are action pacs?** These little packets have a liquid detergent on side and a powder detergent on the other side. You simply place it in the dispenser cup and apparently the pac dissolves because I've never found one. I liked that these action pacs had a combo of both powder and liquid detergent. **How did Cascade work?** I've been very pleased that all of my dishes from greasy chili bowls to glasses have been clean. I haven't had to rewash anything. I do use Jet Dry with it. I think every dishwasher detergent has better results with Jet Dry. ***My Viewpoint: *** Cascade action pacs will go on my "good list" of dishwasher detergents.
