I put these on my baby registry over four years ago because I thought they were beautiful. I didn't really take in to consideration how long they might or might not last. Well, someone bought them on my registry and they've been in use every day for the last almost four years. We swaddled our first born in these from the very first day she came home (she was born in the wintertime). She also grew to be a blankie girl. But, she didn't have to have one blanket in particular...she just wanted a blanket like these. It could have any kind of print or design, but it needed to be a Carter's receiving blanket or of similar texture. My almost four year old is still using these blankets every day. And when she got to about age three, she started chewing on the corners instead of sucking her thumb. These blankets still are in great shape. Yes, the design isn't as vibrant, but after thousands and thousands of washes, who would expect them to be? No frayed edges, no holes, no tears, still intact. And still beautiful and usable. My younger daughter has been using them as well, but my oldest daughter has put these blankets through the wringer and they have won! These are great quality blankets. Yes, they are a bit expensive, but well worth it!
