For quite some time my husband and I ate at Outback, a restaurant next to Carrabba's in Independence. We never tried it, but fortunately, my daughter wanted an evening out together when her husband was involved in a sports activity and she chose Carrabba's. Since then we have dined there often. I wish I could say I'd tried a variety of dishes, but I love chicken bryan so much that I order it each time I go. The quantity is so large that I always take home enough for another meal. If you don't like goat's cheese, you might not like the dish. The sauce is out of this world, but it's sometimes necessary to ask for extra sauce, because when the restaurant was very busy, the amound served was sparse. The house salad is different from Olive Garden's, but it's excellent. At first I thought it unusual to have sliced carrots in the salad, but that adds to the crunchy sensory delight of the salad. Their bread is wonderful and servers are most generous to bring more. The biggest surprise for me is how much I enjoy their herb and olive oil mix for the bread. Some waiters are so good they bring an extra loaf of bread and the herb mix with packaged olive oil to take home. The waiters there certainly know how to work for excellent tips. If you've never tried Carrabba's, believe me, you won't regret it. Their menu is ample enough to satisfy everyone's particular favorites. You can expect a wait to get a table unless you call ahead and leave your name; I'm not sure if they accept reservations, but if you call as you leave home, your wait should be minimal.
