Words cannot describe how much I love this product. It does such an amazing job making my hair soft. I love how it makes my hair feel after I am done styling my hair. I only heard about this product because I was given a sample of another product in the Carol's Daughter line of hair care products. After using the other product, I was willing to try all of their products. Carol's Daughter is a really great line and I would recommend just about any of their products. Effectiveness It really makes my hair soft, but yet, it is still manageable after I use it. It really kept my unruly curls under control and was very effective on my dry split ends. I have always struggled to find a product that helps with the dryness of my hair, especially as I have gotten a little older, so this is a pleasant surprise. Scent I absolutely love the scent. It is not at all overpowering and has a nice clean soft scent. Very soothing smell and goes very well with other products.

I have tried a lot of products for my hair, that have promised to do anything and everything to make it more healthy - few live up to the hype and Carol's daughter is no exception, First of all, the items in the carol daughter line are crazy expensive, and for the price I really don't see anything all that great about them. This product in particular, did not perform any better than cheaper no-name products that I have used in the past. One thing I must say is that it did smell AMAZING. Everywhere I went people were complementing me on the smell, I would almost buy this product just as a hair perfume, because the smell has some real staying power. I have heat-damaged 4c hair (which I'll be trimming in a few weeks), and I was looking for a product that could, if not reverse it, ease some of the damage I had done to my hair so I have used everything from conditioners, shampoos, and this hair smoothie (I also used the CD's shampoo and conditioner and was also unimpressed). The hair smoothie did not provide any additional moisture to my brittle damaged sections, at least not any more moisture that I have noticed with cheaper products. Anyway, I suggest you curlies try it out if you happen to catch it on sale or something, what didn't work for me may turn out to be a holy grail product for you.

I have relatively thick hair and was looking for a conditioner that would add shine, and detangle without weighing my hair down. Initially I was very excited to have found an affordable product that was supposed to do these things. I did not enjoy the results I saw after using Carol's Daughter's Black Vanilla Hair Smoothie for the reasons below: - It made my **scalp itchy**. I made a conscious effort to make sure I got all the product out of my hair spending extra time and energy rinsing but the no improvement from the previous use. - It immediately left my hair feeling too **greasy **and **weighed it down**. It basically undid all my shampooing efforts! I even tried using it with a different shampoo to see if it was not the conditioner that was causing this to happen ot maybe that it could be a function of the shampoo-conditioner combo, but that's not what I found. All in all, very disappointed with the product.

it doesn't weigh, my hair down. I have very thick curly hair, and i like the curls to be smooth and soft and free and this product does the trick and wonders. I have only been using carol's daughter these days, and i have no complaints, except for the fact that I have to order them online.

I have searched high and low for things that work well in my adopted daughters hair who is african american.I saw this product on one of my boards and it was recommended as a good choice to use for her hair type so I decided to give it a try. I LOVE the smell, it is absolutely amazing to say the least! It is gentle and easy to use. It always leaves my daughters soft and shiney. My only draw back is that it is expensive and I can only buy it online and the shipping is usually pretty high as well. It also seems to go "out of stock" quiet often. Because of those factors we have switched to Organix Coconut but I do love this product. It does not give to much oil and can be used in many hair types. I have biracial caucasion and african american children and it can be used in all three. I just wish that they sold it locally in the store! Or that they offered a mega size tub of it for a lower price!

I bought some of the Carol's Daughter black vanilla hair smoothie at the suggestion of my sister in law when I decided to go natural with mine and my daughter's hair.  This product not only smells fantastic but it does an awesome job of conditioning my hair.  I use this conditioner daily and it truly makes my hair soft and manageable.  I have kinky tight curls and this conditioner makes my curls manageable, hydrated, and soft to the touch.  I absolutely love Carol's Daughters products.  The only thing I don't like is the price, it's a bit more expensive than what you would pay in the store but worth the price.

I have to say I have tried a lot of "all natural" products in the past, but none comes close to the results I receive with Carol's Daughter. I have very fine hair and I wear a dreadlock style.  So I have to have a product that not only conditions my hair, but also one leaves my hair healthy.  The Black Vanilla Hair Smoothie smells great, and is all natural.  You can do an instant conditioning which is like most instant conditioners, put it on your hair after you shampoo, leave on for a min or two, rinse and your through.  Then there is the deep conditioning which you will leave on your hair for about 15 mins, put on a shower cap, and sit under a dryer, and I can tell you it is worth it.  My hair feels fresh, alive, and has so much body to it.  So whether you do the instant or the deep conditioning, this product is a must!

This product actually did wonders at detangling and keeping my hair moisturized. The smell was pleasant too. I use ALL natural products (with the exception being fragrance and preservative) so I'm not a huge fan of these ingredients, but it does work really well. When I first got this product I applied it to wet hair, it's very thick in texture and has a WONDERFUL vanilla smell to it. I love the scent and love it even more than my almond cookie scented products. Anyway, I left this on for about 15 minutes and rinsed out. My hair was so soft and conditioned. I loved it! I'm not sure why some one would have an itchy scalp from using this product but it worked well for me.
